That was one of the best halftime shows ever produced. No Purple Rain in the rain, but it was in the top 10.
Production wise sure. The music was 100% not for me, but I’ve already made peace with that for Superbowl performances in general.
Word. I’m an insufferable indie snob, and it’s rare that top 40 pop excites me. But, I appreciate good craft, and IMHO, if you’re at the top of the US album charts, and are pulling numbers that beat Taylor Swift, you should probably get to play at the Super Bowl. The people have spoken.

Imo, the worst half time show in my lifetime was probably Paul McCartney. Not that he was bad at all but someone had to be the worst. He was just an overly conservative pick as an overadjustment to the nipslip.

I remember when I was very young they had a halftime show that was actually just an Indiana Jones commercial. I know Indiana Jones sounds cool, but I remember it feeling like a bunch of people just doing random shit and the product as a whole feeling particularly bad.
