Vance would almost certainly not be reelected, sure, but Trump isn’t eligible to run, so it’ll be an uphill battle for him too. He isn’t stupid enough to get removed from office, and that’s all that he has to do: sign Heritage Foundation, Federalist Society, and John Birch Society bills for the rest of the term.

Before the election, sure, but replacing Trump with JD Vance doesn’t inhibit the power structures that he represents nearly as much as offing three billionaires.

I’m talking about specifically tab completion. You still have to read what it’s suggesting, just like with IntelliSense and other pre-LLM autocomplete tools, but it sometimes finishes your thoughts and saves you some typing.

Code autocompletion was always really limited, but now every couple dozen lines it suggests exactly what I was going to type anyway. Never on anything particularly clever, mind you, but it saves some tedium.

The problem arises when people think that they’re on the path to AGI and treat them like they know things.

And that’s what happens when you spend a trillion dollars on an autocomplete: amazing at making things look like whatever it’s imitating, but with zero understanding of why the original looked that way.
Evolution by artificial selection is still evolution.
