JD Vance doesn’t have the following or the charisma to pull off the nonsense Trump does. MAGA doesn’t work without Trump. Anytime MAGA has been in an election without Trump it fails pretty spectacularly.

Nah, you need the charisma to convince the people in congress to go along with your ideas. Trump has that kind of sway and power because of all the lackeys he put in place. I don’t think JD could hold the same influence over them.

I don’t want Trump to die. I want him just in the edge of mental degradation so there’s a constitutional crisis. GQP will hesitate to 24A him cause MAGA would revolt. It would be an extremely lame duck presidency.

I want Trump to live long and quiet enough that he’s forgotten.

I want him to survive a Cat-5 hurricane that destroys Mar-a-Lago.

I want him to drool uncontrollably in a wheelchair while they take down his name down from buildings and golf resorts and turn them into shelters for the homeless and asylum seekers.

I want all his sons turn into Viserys III Targaryen, paupers and laughing stocks that people entertain out of pity, not respect.

I want him to live a long life in interesting times.

It would be an extremely lame duck presidency.

It already is. Haven’t you seen him sign those executive orders and it’s immediately apparent he’s never seen or read it before that moment? He doesn’t have any clue what he’s going to sign before they put the paper in front of him.

Trump is in the White House for two reasons- make himself richer and avoid prosecution for his crimes. Everything else that’s happening is being masterminded by someone else. Smart money is on Stephen Miller.

Your ears you keep and I’ll tell you why. So that every shriek of every child at seeing your hideousness will be yours to cherish. Every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman who cries out, “Dear God! What is that thing,” will echo in your perfect ears. That is what “to the pain means.” It means I leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery forever.

        That sounds delightful.

“Trump is going to die any day now” is a thing people were posting in 2018. It’s a thing people were posting about Vladimir Putin in 2018.

It’s all court gossip and click bait bullshit.

It does though. And increasingly this will change with time such that human ages skew older, so I will remain flexible on that number when it comes to who I think is capable of holding various offices.

Some fare better than others. But anyone in the 70s to 80s is at such a higher risk of some event that takes them out of commission than usual and we have over 60 million people to look at, surely we don’t have to settle for people that have a risk of disrupting the office.

I think, regardless of how, or when he dies, there will be shrines and monuments built by his supporters in much the same way as a cult. I can also see it turning out like Jamestown where his supporters drink the Kool-Aid and also I can see a Dalai Lama situation where his supporters believe his soul has inhabited The body of the new leader, thus opening the doors for a wave of new grifter and liars to control the new Trump cult.

Honestly, I think if he dies, most of his cult of personality dies with him. I bet many pull a Bush -> teabagger routine again and pretend they didn’t really like that washed-up game show host that much anyway, since he wasn’t a True Conservative ™. Remember, conservatism can never fail, it can only be failed by people improperly living up to True Conservatism ™.

So, no matter how many blatant failures of conservatism you can point to, the cons will always have an out, such as not doing it hard enough, or that they were foiled by those nasty Democrats, uppity POC, outspoken women, devious liberals, the Deep State, or whatever other bullshit you care to name.

They’ll still be cons, though, and they’ll seek the next hit of China White. They won’t settle for a Ronnie Raygun or a Bush, they’ll want to up the ante and have someone who “says what I’m thinking” - most especially if what is being verbalized are some of the darkest thoughts at the root of the Republican movement. So I’m thinking they will wait for an even bigger asshole than donnie and then pretend they never had all that donvict gear on their person, their car, their house…EXACTLY like they did for Dumbya.

I don’t know if even death will. Maybe he stops making public appearances for “national security reasons” and only communicates through video broadcasts. Anyone who notices something is slightly off about them, like frames where he has extra fingers or nonsense text on the papers on his desk is called a conspiracy theorist, and to shut up and celebrate the Dear Leader’s 170th birthday.

        The year is 2117. Either…

A: AI still can’t generate video without a bunch of fucky artifacts.

B: The Trump administration is still using janky AI from the 2020s, even though better options exist.

        Both sound plausible.

So, as expected, he will die without suffering the consequences of his actions.

    Sounds about white.

American justice is the butt of a joke.

Assuming he’s dead or leaves in 2028, America wasted 8 years on a felon rapist. 8 years of our lives with not just no progress, but regression. Means we’ll see less progress and less benefits in our short lives. So fucking pathetic.

Don’t forget about the increasing amounts of permanent destruction. There’s gonna be a lot of people killed, environmental damage, etc. that we can never get back even if Trump is replaced by a non-fascist and every one of his policies are immediately stopped.

The problem is that he’s always been a stupid, self-important blowhard that tells rambling, pointless stories, so his incoherence is less pronounced. Biden, for all his faults, was a great orator and debator, even around 2016 to 2018, so his drop-off in the last five years was a stark shift.

Wish all you want that Trump preferably dies soon but it doesn’t matter. He is merely the punching bag and front for the real rulers: the oligarchs. They will only prop up someone else as the fall guy, while they steal every fibre, life and soul of everything they touches.

I can’t wait for corporate fascism! Enclave when?! /s

But seriously, America wants to speedrun to corporate fascism (Thiel and Musk are accelerationists after all). But even without this speed running, corpo-fascism is only the logical conclusion of America’s deranged obsession and worshipping of capitalism.

Just look at some of his speeches from the last time he was president and you’ll see the difference is night and day. Before it was just stupidity, but now it’s so much worse and he can barely form a sentence compared to then. And for all the people saying “well, Biden was clearly in decline too and everyone tried to hide it.” And you’re probably right. But you know what? He’s not the president right now. And if it was such a big deal back then it should be an even bigger deal now because we are still letting it happen.
