There was actually some sort of charm to those early models, they should have stayed there fucking up everything and making nightmare videos of people eating spaghetti.

I’m not pro-AI, but this could easily be modern art, too. The difference between human slop and AI slop is rather floating.

AI has been better than this for quite some time now. I honestly miss this era of AI-generated images though. It was always immediately noticeably AI but created some absolutely vile Cronenberg-esque abominations that I’d consider a genuine art genre on its own. Now we just get realistic but slightly uncanny slop

Scrolled through my gallery some time ago and found some of those early AI images from 2023 or so. Its insane how much has changed in 3 years.

The absurdist/Dadaist era of AI was peak.

This current super-realism phase is just creepy because there’s still a very tangible factor of uncanny valley in most pictures, but it’s getting harder to tell precisely where that factor comes from…

I came to say that too! It was body horror and glorious. 4 arms in the wrong place? Eyes in funny places.

There was an utterly surreal burger commercial someone prompted that I just loved. It wasn’t really good, but it was a lot.

Jesus eating pizza on the beach is my favorite part of the bible.

You haven’t seen high-quality generation of local AI models, they are especially good in cartoon styles. For example, in the NSFW genre in 2026, people who have learned to work with their local AI models create content faster, better, and more soulful than real people. And people don’t care, they call it a real art.

Here's an example: this is an NSFW picture created by a local AI.

And this is an average level: if you saw the high level of skill of local AIs, you would be surprised: in 2026, the pictures they create and even short videos are no different from human-created content: the same lines, the same styles, the same performances as real artists, only more smoothly, and only by a miracle will you be able to understand that it was created by AI, not by human.

For now. Unfortunately. I really do fear what it will be in 1/ or 15 years. Hopefully it regurgitated itself and lacks originality

I mean if were being real, this does catch attention. The audience is likely mocking the work but its the attention that matters for the tech bros. The real problem is that this a collage of other peoples work.

The argument that ai art is a bad thing because it doesn’t look good is not a strong one, because it will only continue to improve to a point where it will unfortunately become indistinguishable from human art. There are much better things to criticise

lame and stupid and false and it’s just reason for you to post AI slop

AI is already stealing visual artists’ jobs to create low-quality visuals for free

And some people are already using it to generate fake paintings and sell them
