News@lemmy.world•Oatly loses long-running 'milk' battle with dairy lobbyEnglish
11·10 hours agoAlpro had a dispute with their soy milk too in Italy.
In Italian, milk is “latte” (double t, important for the question).
They got said that they can’t call the product “latte” because it is not milk as it doesn’t come from an animal.
They created a new packaging with a huge writing saying: “Questo non è LATE” (with a single T). It could roughly be translated to English as “This is not MYLK” . They are still selling it because they are not selling milk.
Edit: apparently it’s not just an Italian thing as they sell it in English as “not MLK”! Funny tho, I almost got the name right without knowing it!

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•They should go back to FranceEnglish
3·1 day agoEntitled tourists are like that. Not all are like that, but British in Spain are the worst offenders because they tend to act like this. They think Spain is their personal beach so locals are just a bother for them because they… you know… live there.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•They should go back to FranceEnglish
6·1 day agoNot critizicing you or anything, just pointing out that this is a common sight from entitled tourists, especially British, because the ones behaving like that think of Spain as their personal beach.
We hate them for a reason; going to another country thinking the people there should live to serve you as if you were at home and not them is a powerful driver to make people hate you.

10·1 day agoUsual shit “news” from a tabloid. Not new, not even enraging anymore. This is just low quality ragebait.

16·2 days agoI’m so certain you will delete the id immediately after I send it that, after carefully considering it, I deemed it a waste of time: if you are deleting my ID immediately, the time spent on sending it is better used on something more useful, like taking a dump.

News@lemmy.world•Epstein Files Redacted to Protect 'Prominent' People, Lawmakers AllegeEnglish
28·2 days agoWait, are you telling me that releasing the files with the email senders redacted but the victims names unredacted was to protect the assholes and not the victims?!
I’m shocked! SHOCKED I say!

News@lemmy.world•Gen Z is the first generation dumber than their parents, neuroscientist claimsEnglish
7·2 days ago"Omg! I gave my kid an Ipad as soon as he was able to hold it in his hands so it would do my job as a parent and now my kid is dumb?! How did this happen?!
Wait, and you also tell me that me voting for assholes that wanted to destroy the education system is also to blame?!
I can’t believe I’m the one responsible for this!"
You have to understand. Counting numbers up to 1 digit can be hard! There might be margin for error! Were they 4? 6? maybe even 7 in total!

News@lemmy.world•AI gold rush sees tech firms embracing 72-hour weeksEnglish
28·3 days agoNo.
You see? The work-week is 40 hour. Anything after that is a no go for me unless extreme cases happen. In fact, we have laws here limiting the number of extra hours that can be done a year to 200-something. I’d run out of extra hours for the year in a month.
In fact, the correct approach is to ask your employees why are they doing overtime. My boss will ask why I stayed for later than my shift if I do overtime. Not because it’s a bad thing, but because, if I do on a regular basis, it means we are understaffed and he needs to hire someone else.
But I realize I live in a developed country, with rights and all that socialist stuff.
I’m talking about the updates with the content that should be in game at launch. You know, those that, after they released them all, make the game feel like the 1.0 release.
The dlc’s are those they launch later with what everyone else call “qol updates”
That’s so old!
Now they work with “why delay a game when you can release it half-assed and just fill the void of content later as free updates?”
See splatoon, animal crossing, mario spin-offs…:

World News@lemmy.world•Ex-KGB official says 2 countries have copies of compromising Trump videoEnglish
50·4 days agoThe trump files are basically tons of documents saying he RAPED KIDS and that fucking country is not even trying to impeach him.
What kind of video do you think could be more compromising than that?

3·5 days agoWe don’t need that. A nephritic colic is one of the most unbearable pains in the world.
One that lasts for the rest of his (hopefully short) life.
Or… we could just push him towards a Stinging tree if we manage to get him to visit Australia.

42·5 days agoAmericans shoehorned politics on everything.
But suddenly, when something can upset the egomaniac pedofile in charge, “not everything has to be about politics”.
Go back to your hole, we don’t like your kind here.

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Robots only half as efficient as humans, says leading Chinese producerEnglish
21·8 days agoUnironically, a CEO, whose job is basically taking shots at spreadsheets would be a good candidate to be replaced. As well as many of the useless managers that only see numbers, not people, and take decisions based on those (frequently with less than decent results).

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Robots only half as efficient as humans, says leading Chinese producerEnglish
22·8 days agoI work in the food industry. Our plants have robots. They replaced humans 1 to 1 in areas like pick-n-place: take the food from a conveyor belt and put it inside a packaging.
They can do that really well, but when you try to put them to taste a product, or to inspect the presentation of the product, or to diagnose why that so well functioning robot is not working properly, they will fail miserably.
A robot will only replace a worker that doesn’t need to have a brain to do their work.

So unexpected! Who could have thought that making such an unique game would end like this?
I mean, this is a shooter where people choose a hero with an unique loadout and set of skills and battle with therr team against another team of these heroes.
We could call it… idk… Hero Shooter! I’m sure I haven’t seen a game like this before!
