probably already posted, but worth a repost.

“Hired goons” has a whole new meaning
Hired goons?
Makes me think that “goon” was a self censorship of “gun”.
Terminally online folk in the 2000s: “do you have stairs in your house?”
I am protected.
I appreciate you man.
I didn’t think it would take as long as it did. We’re a dying breed!
DAE remember when “Gay Boner” meant happy mistake?
Fuck yes I’m in.
Wait sorry. i thought you said “off” not “up”.
It also meant and still means cheap cask wine. taps head
Ah, the cry of teen parties everywhere in Australia when someone rips open the box, exposing the bladder: “Gooooooon!”
In EvE Online, Goonswarm Federation usually goes by Imperium these days to crib GamesWorkshops branding for 40k and to get away from their old leader and past problomatic branding… For an online army of 10k angry nerds, got to look presentable…
I will admit, online names used to have a bit more leaniency for being immature.
You can still goon to them if you like.
It’s like pov or insulting people as npc. I kind of like that the newer generations used more gaming words. The kids of gaming parents are talking :D
The Bengali word for multiplication is গুন, which is pronounced like goon. As the uncle with a math degree, I’m sometimes asked to help my nephews with their math homework. They’re in high school. They can’t stop grinning when we talk about multiplication. Brainrot is truly cross-cultural, I guess.
