I’m fascinated to know the actual purpose for this.
A planter for fake plants. Apparently it was a fad in the 50s and 60s.
holy shit how did you know that
Wish I could take credit, but it’s good old search engine work. I searched for bathroom basins and came across several discussions of this same picture. Among all the jokes and random ideas was that link above that finally explained it.
thanks :)
Impressive dedication. Do you have an important task to do that you’re currently procrastinating? Whenever I show similar levels of commitment to answering trivial questions, that’s what is usually driving me.
I was winding down to go to sleep, so I put that off for a few minutes. I don’t want to oversell the effort involved though. It was less than 10 minutes of refining search queries and scouring a handful of message threads for related info.
Or maybe I spend too much time online. :)
Probably by image searching it, and finding the r/whatisthisthing post where both this pic and the joke are from.
they used to live in one

Welcome to the internet.
I have been online since 1994. This picture is almost as old.
I had a house built in ‘71 and it had one
Baptisms
Ice and a 12-pack, obviously.
The bald eagle, the icon of the USA, is being hunted towards extinction by, as you might have guessed, US Americans. Which is ironic because the USA is also being destroyed by, as everyone knows, US Americans.
Bald eagles are fleeing towards Canada, so Americans who want to avoid their own destruction should probably do the same.
The moving of the bald eagle to Canada isn’t disrupting it’s local wild life and balance but I think this will be different when there will be an influx of uneducated self centered hillbillies.
Mmmmm, smells like you’re full of shit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bald_eagle
The bald eagle is the national bird and national symbol of the United States and appears on its seal. In the late 20th century it was on the brink of extirpation in the contiguous United States, but measures such as banning the practice of hunting bald eagles and banning the use of the harmful pesticide DDT slowed the decline of their population. Populations have since recovered, and the species’ status was downgraded from “endangered” to “threatened” in 1995 and removed from the list altogether in 2007.
At best your shit is 20 years old. Since you’re stuck back in the early aughts, maybe you should warn people bout the dangers of the coming decades?
… it’s illegal to touch a bald eagle, let alone hunt one. Their populations are thriving in the US. What are you even talking about?
I saw a documentary about illegal hunting the bald eagle which drastically hurt the population in the US
Ah! I see it. That’s, umm, old news. The population has made significant gains since hunting was banned in the 60s. That, plus the banning of DDT, brought the 417 nesting pairs in 1963 to >71,000 pairs today.
Like I said, “illegal” poaching.
71,000 mating pairs isn’t exactly an L, dude.
What are you talking about? Bald eagle populations are thriving and they’ve been removed from the endangered species list. Are there still shitsheads? Always will be.
I think this will be different when there will be an influx of uneducated self centered hillbillies.
I think you misjudge who will be migrating to Canada. certainly it’s the cute gay couple and not the methed-up cousin fucker.
You underestimate the level of “Fuck you got mine” in most cousin fuckers
Ironically, lots of Bald Eagles in Canada around Lake Erie. Must the the healthcare.
Yeah but it might include a gay couple that are cousins and on meth. They make those in Alabama and Indiana
How many Rs are in strawberry
Lentil soup
I see what you did there 🫘🫘🫘🫘🫘🫘🫘🫘

Keep on keeping on
I haven’t received my bald eagle yet.
Does this mean I’m not American enough?
:(
Brb getting a rifle from walmart so I can get the bald eagle on my own
I’ve only seen one in the wild two or three times. It’s a beautiful animal.
Its a ridiculous derp bird.
