Yeah, a dead one that literally doesn’t function anymore. If they “require confirmation” then I no longer need to read whatever is being gatekept.
Also, 90% of the time, a@b.com works.

I’m always amused how often fuck@you.com works
I feel bad for whoever owns you.com
Seems like it would be an innocent new agey spiritual affirmation kind of site. Actually, it’s probably some bullshit, so never mind.
if i owned Fuck at you dot com i’d keep it set up for spam just for that reason.
but i have my own private spam email addresses. like three of them, for different identities.
I prefer NoneOfYour@damn-business.com
10 Minute E-Mails are the best, you can confirm it exists, and they don’t get any (usable) data
Sort of. I have a “catch-all” address (that’s just the most legit looking result to a search for the phrase, I won’t vouch for whether it’s a good site). Basically anything@domain.com goes to spam@domain.com. It’s a bit awkward if you need to respond, but otherwise, it’s good for signing up to sites and it makes it easy to filter out ones that spam you and don’t provide a good unsubscribe link.
psst, if you have a catchall like that, you can probably SEND from anything@yourdomain.com too! We sure can.
You just need a client that lets you type in the From field. Some do, some don’t.

As much as I’m mildly technically competent, I tend to interact with my email from a browser. Generally speaking, it’s not that easy to alter headers in that environment.
Oh, you don’t need to go header-diving or anything. Just a client that lets you do that. Dunno if any browser-based ones do, but they certainly technically could.
Yeah, it’s my gmail address.
Like the Times.
My old hotmail gets all that stuff. Awhile back they added some stuff to automatically keep it clean-ish, mainly the sweep feature. Plus I have addy.io that forwards a bunch of stuff to it.
I have two!
Reminds me of this:

To be fair, I found a freely accessible version of this with a single search. Also to be fair, it wasn’t the published version.
Ugh, yeah. I got gifted an article and now they won’t leave me alone. I can’t get off their email list without giving them my email that they already have so I can make an account with them I don’t want so I can get off the email list I’m already on. FFS man
Click ‘Report Spam’
Yeah, that shit would get auto-filtered straight into the spam folder.
Report every post they send you. It will be their problem eventually.
I thought the US had some law about unsubscribing within two clicks r something?
I always make up an email address. fakename@fakedomain.com. If they require a confirmation, I use a forwarder and forward to a yahoo account that I never use and has all fake profile info. Fake name, fake birthday, fake profile pic. I log in maybe twice per year and delete everything.
Ahhhhh, good idea. A burner trash email.with fake details. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that.
10 Minute E-Mails are your friend.
sadly more and more sites are rejecting many of the easily accessible mail forwarders and temp email services.
Make your first or last name the name of the website so you know who sold your email address to spammers.
I have a catch-all email domain, and this is exactly what I do. Walmart gets “walmart@example.com”, Target gets “target@example.com”, etc… All of them go to the same inbox, so I always know which email address they think I have. If I start getting spam addressed to walmart@example.com, I know Walmart sold my info. I can just filter anything addressed to that account straight into my spam folder.
Forwards to adscheaper.com
Lmao they never consider that you have like. 5 emails.
What a fucking concept.
Use the element zapper mode in uBlock Origin. Makes the shit go away
Except for when the text isn’t actually loaded underneath and you only get like an extra paragraph at most.
Yeah, happens to me too. Sometimes it works and sometimes it won’t. Just have to keep trying. Or use SimpleLogin or Addy for email aliases
And getting a lot more difficult to find email that doesn’t want your phone number, while getting more difficult to buy a phone without giving out your personal information.
