It’s kinda been writing itself from the very start. There are always enough weird, funny and fucked up things going on to make episodes about. I think it’s just harder now because of how quickly everything happens and how much there is to choose from.

Theres a super cool documentary call something like 6 days to air where you see the creative process of a south park episode.

The tldw is that they start with nothing on the Monday and write, animate and record the whole thing by the Saturday air time.

It’s the same sentiment with The Onion and Black Mirror. Having to take a step back because reality is too absurd

Cartman should freak out about it while no one else cares.

Then Stan tells him they won’t be held accountable and it’s never brought up again.

Alternatively, Cartman is in the files (because Epstein used his paint the walls in shit revenge service to prank one of the actual visitors to the island) and when told he can make the girls do anything he wants, he gets one to make fun of Kyle on video, where he is clearly being an asshole to her.

And Butters is also in the file because they tried to recruit him after he went viral for What, What, In the Butt, which Cartman latches on to and spends the whole episode trying to help Butters clear his name (so that he can clear his own name in the process).

Also Randy is on the list because he was trying to get them to sign Tegrity Farms up as their official weed supplier and he spends the episode trying to supress the information entirely but gets Streisand effected hard, leading to the follow up episode where Trump tries to pin the whole thing on Randy (and everything else, too, and starts bringing up shit that isn’t even public). In the end, Randy gets “one of the harshest punishments ever given to a rich person”: a fine for $3.50, and everyone realizes that it wasn’t a judge presiding over the case, but a 3-story crustacean known as the Lochness Monster and the episode ends with everyone getting together to yell at Nessie (and the incident is never mentioned again).

South Park sucks now. Kyle and Stan said that, and since they are Matt and Trey, i don’t think they enjoy writing this crap. It’s that they can’t stay silent about it, so I personally think they hate that. And I hate it too, everything about Trump makes me want to vomit.

They’re making the big bucks. Theyve regularly tried to get the show cancelled with that joke of “South Park Sucks Now” they even got the hashtag #cancelsouthpark trending on purpose. If they really wanted to walk away, they could. But they just keep coming back with more and more ridiculous demands for pay and they keep getting it.

As far as I can tell, they are genuinely good folks who use money and influence to do good. After taking ownership of Casa Bonita, during the renovation period that followed, they said that they will still pay the existing employees, but only if those employees do charity work while the place is being renovated. Mat and Trey make money but they don’t seem hungry for more. They also renewed a deal with Paramount; but when CBS tried to cancel Colbert so that the duo’s parent company, Skydance, will have the Trump admin approve the merger with CBS, Mat and Trey unabashedly criticised their company without fear of cancellation and despite having just signed a renewed contract. They were not punished nonetheless and if even if there have been, I believe they will stick to their guns.

I guess you are right. It’s just about the money now. They already made the deal, so a lot more lazy episodes will be coming.

Whenever they take on real world stuff, they’re incredibly smug and sanctimonious about it. This has been the case since the start, and I can’t say I’ve ever been able to get past that.

I grew up on that show, and I don’t really see what you mean. Maybe because my political views are more or less aligned to theirs. But I get this type of humor is not for everyone, especially if you don’t agree with the message they are trying to send. I don’t enjoy their new stuff but it’s because I mentioned in my previous comment. Real world right now is crazier than any fiction, so you can’t really laugh at the jokes when it’s just the world. it’s more depressing than funny.

In the latest season Trump is an abusive boyfriend to Satan, who he has knocked up. Some episodes are about him treating Satan poorly or trying to kill the unborn baby.

JD Vance is maybe 15 inches tall and sort of looks like the guy from james bond that kills people by throwing hats.

Kristi Noem literally shoots a dog in every episode, everytime she is on screen, sometimes multiple times in an episode.

You don’t have to watch it but they are definitely doing their best to produce satire.

The JD vance thing is a spoof of the Fantasy Island TV show. The dwarf that would say, “Boss, ze plane!”

My favorite was that connection between Thiel and the antichrist stuff. Saying Satan was cursed with a very tiny asshole after being banished so he couldn’t reproduce, but Trump’s penis is so incredibly small it was able to fit."

I seem to be the only one confused by this - what leak? Is it just a typo?

A leak is when something is released without authorisation? So far the only information is authorised releases of the files with lots of stuff redacted, and allegations there is more being held back. Has there been a leak too?

There were a couple instances where they accidentally released unredacted versions of files before they realized and replaced them with redacted versions, but that’s all I can recall off the top of my head. One instance of that occured last week.

I think there may have been some documents released without authorization before, but I can’t recall when, just a vague recollection.

There was some that were “redacted” ie the stuff was blacked out but you could highlight and copy/paste it.

so they write an episode about some of their classmates getting abducted to be used at krasnov’s pleasure dome? that is not a fun episode to write.
