That’s not the text (or philosophy) Christians are asked to use by Christ. Think of it as a wild and lascivious prologue that’s supposed to prove Jesus was Christ. The prequel so to speak.

Kinda. The only religions that survive centuries are ones where the holy texts are flexible enough to adapt into whatever the believer wants them to mean. "The Bible says so, " never changes anyone’s mind, it’s just a thought-terminating cliche to reinforce what they already believe. You have to find out what their values are based on.
