We buy ground beef in bulk whenever it’s on sale. Like 5 or 10 pounds at a time.

We freeze them in quart bags, one pound at a time, squish them flat, and stack them in the freezer.

So easy to slap in a pan and start frying for tacos or whatever.

We recently got a half dozen or so pounds of 1 pound tubes of ground beef gifted to us. And man, it sucks trying to cook those from frozen. Scraping at them and frying them. Bah.

Sort of. Let’s say the 16 were to the brim and it won’t zip with 17. You could fit an extra 4 by stacking it on top of those 16, and while it’d cause more “empty space” around those 4, there’s enough “slack” in the baggie to allow it to fit.

It did. In the left image, the one cube on the top is too tall and the bag doesn’t close properly. On the right image, more cubes are close to the top, but the bag fully closes.

I’ll give you that the bag on the left isn’t closed, but I don’t believe it can’t be. I’ve squeezed enough blocks of cheese into sandwich bags to know what they look like when they won’t close, and that bag could absolutely be closed. It’s still funny for the meme though!

Yes, but it closes with the optimal packing, and not with the naive one.

The only issue I have with that is that he couldn’t have been training for many years.
