I saw a clip on reddit about such karen and now that scenario is stuck in my head, new fear unlocked.

What’s the best response for each scenario:

You are:

  1. Undocumented
  2. Legal - Visa
  3. Legal - Permanent Resident
  4. Naturalized Citizen
  5. Citizen at Birth

This is one of the reasons I won’t consider traveling to the US because I think how any of those work out is going to depend on the luck of how others involved are feeling in that moment.

4 and 5 have very different answers depending on race. I’m white, have a Midwestern accent, and was born here. I can look at this person like they’re a moron and ask if they’ve never heard an ohio accent before or what. A Latino born in the same hospital who grew up a town over has to be more diplomatic about explaining that them and their parents were born here.

Similarly a white person naturalized from Australia can be a lot more blase than a brown person naturalized from anywhere.

I’m Chinese American, am naturalized Citizen. Can I pull the “model minority” card? I speak English with no “foreign” accents since I grew up here.

I don’t think theres currently a sterotype of (East) Asian Americans being “criminals”, is there?

That said tho, after Covid, i’m not sure anymore.

As #5 white looking man: I’d tell her go ahead I’ll wait. Then once they are here, tell ICE she runs an illegal daycare out of here home for illegal aliens’ kids and that she is upset because I called her at the church potluck. Proceed to give them a local megachurch or if not available a white baptist church.

      Then once they are here

They don’t ask questions, so you don’t need to continue. They just drag people away, it seems. They scoop up a dozen kiwis a month, which means your even your non-kiwi pasty-white self gets none of the privilege you’re counting on.

anyone who threatens me will receive it in turn.

you’re gonna call ICE on me? better hope they get to me before I get to you, because there won’t be any hope for you and your family if they don’t.

My family already did that, we left mainland China, because PRC was fucked economically and employment was high, very difficult to find a job, and jobs were very shit, and no labor protections. (and also the government sucked, corrupt af)

Then we ended up in the US a decade ago (well, more than a decade ago)

      So um…

      Lol…

Left a dictatorship just to end up in another dictatorship 🙃. (Despite this, I still hate that place, there’s no fucking way I wanna go back to that hell, too much toxic masculinity and anti-LGBT sentiments, and ableism in society, besides, my primary language is English and there’s no way in hell I’d wanna learn written Chinese, jesus christ that shit’s hard, I’m practically illiterate there, so much media is censored, I don’t like it.)

AFAIK, EU isn’t gonna take asylum cases seriously. I’m cis and not LGBT btw, so I have no legitimate asylum claims.

      🤷‍♂️

I don’t condone violence normally for any reason, but anyone who does this to anyone clearly deserves a wooden board to the face.

Act like you can’t hear and get away. If she grabs or tries to block moving away then escalate to what is required to get away.

Still similar advice, get away, have a manager or ally deal with them. The point is to try and deescalate by removing yourself from the situation. If they prevent that and continue escalating then you escalate to the level needed to get away and call the cops on them.
