Not as far as I know, there’s no way to set custom DNS that I’ve found.

I’ve trained the algorithm that I don’t tolerate ads.

I rarely see ads on YouTube. I use FreeTube and yt-dlp pretty much exclusively for my YouTube viewing. I only see ads when I watch YouTube on my TV, and even then, only rarely. As soon as it shows me an ad, I close out of YouTube. Not skip ad, not go back, I close YouTube. I switch to audiobooks instead.

The algorithm wants to increase watch time, the only way it can do that is to not show me ads, so that’s what it does. It’s surprising how well it works.

Best I can do on my lunch take at work I’m afraid :)

Correction, Winamp still does this today while using a fraction of the resources.

Though if you’re on Windows I’d recommend Xmplay instead, it plays basically everything.

I’m on Linux and I use VLC.

I once had a HTC ChaCha phone. It was great. It had a hardware keyboard, a feature I’m disappointed is now extremely rare.

It also had a Facebook button. You couldn’t rebind it to anything else without dark magick that I wasn’t in on.

I imagine how I felt when I accidentally pressed Facebook is how Windows users feel when they accidentally press Copilot.

I barely even qualify as a dabbling coder, I write terrible Python code and even worse bash scripts, which I think barely counts as dabbling? But anyway, I do it in Kate because it highlights my syntax but otherwise just lets me work.
