Only if every soldier knows how to operate and maintain any kid of gun they can possibly come across, and only if they can magically build supply lines to move the right ammo to the right places without knowing where it all is ahead of time, and only if nobody booby traps anything. There’s a reason soldiers don’t procure on site unless they have to.

Everyone is suffering for Grim-Dumb reasons in 40k like the nuclear rodmen that refuel starships or whatever… even a dumb robot on rails using limit switches can do the job but noooooo we have to melt an entire human being per rod bundle.

    Christopher Walken agrees.

I’ve [fired a gun] a lot in movies, but there are too many guns in the real world. I know people with guns, and they always say the same thing. “If somebody breaks into my house, I have to be able to defend myself.” But what they’re really saying is, “I hope somebody breaks into my house so I can use this thing.” It’s so wrong.

Fuck all of you ignorant assholes. Shooting another person is the last thing I ever want to do with any of my guns. That’s not why I have them, that’s not what I like to do with them.

After the Hunger Games movies came out, there was a huge number of young girls taking up the hobby of archery because they wanted to be like Katniss Everdeen. Are you going to accuse them of penetrating themselves with their arrows while they fantasize about killing people? Of course not, because that would make you a sick weirdo.

And I would add to the argument there’s a second, less visible gun culture in the USA. You have the right wing idiots who put loaded pistols between sofa cushions with toddlers in the house and people who are fine with guns far left of them that lock them up properly, don’t broadcast it with posters, bumper stickers, and what not You know, more responsible people.

Atrophy doesn’t matter in war, only capability to harm your opponent.

In the early modern period in Europe you could argue that the European armies martial arts ability in close quarters combat that had been developed over centuries was atrophying as they relied more on guns. But that doesn’t matter if 50 guys with guns can defeat 5 highly trained knights and those 50 guys are cheaper to find and replace.

Same with AI, it won’t matter if you have a couple more highly trained hackers and security experts if there up against a swarm of AI agents who have proven very capable of cyber attacks.

Agents are the guns of cyber warfare. Any idiot can pick them up easily and do a lot of harm.

The left will never win an arms race against the right. Even discounting their gigantic headstart they also have way more money and resources and the backing of the arms manufacturers to get more weapons.

Our best bet is to try and put up as much gun control as possible and try and reduce the advantage they already have, not try and start a losing war that’ll get us killed.

Or be like Switzerland and give every man military training and a gun from the state to completely even the playing field.

Not that there’s not merit to the mainstream right having more firearms than the mainstream ‘left’, but I think you might be discounting how many people left of the center are firearm owners in America. If you’re speaking from a perspective of civil unrest leading to political violence, I dont feel any group will have a hard time obtaining firearms, rather they’d be bottlenecked by the amount of supporters they can find to wield such firearms. A lot of people are talk, yet when you give someone a gun and say they might die for a cause, it vastly lowers how many truly want to enact violence.

Ah, another post from a person who knows nothing about gun culture except what liberals have instructed them to believe.

No one talks like this. No one acts like this. The closest you’ll find on YT are videos about whether or not $X is appropriate for home defense, and that shit is played out, rare enough now, we’re mostly on the same page. (OP is now madly hunting a fringe guntuber with 500 subscribers.)

Reminds me of a (former) conservative friend, "Well yeah! You liberals all believe (insane bullshit incoming).

“Who the fuck told you that? Who the hell are you listening to?”

Oh! You get your information and world view from memes! I get it. I prefer not to countenance words on pictures.

once followed some ytubers that turned magaty, and they were literally “euphoric” at the thought of shooting someone(a “intruder”) and one of them even has multiple guns stashed at thierhouse in case of this.
