Just a guy wandering aimlessly through this world.
Pronouns: he/him/his
Yep, you are 💯 correct that this is what they did. Regardless of industry, is why unions are so very important. “At Will” employment is too easily abused, and even if this could somehow be considered a wrongful termination (ANAL, but protesting a company’s social-political viewpoints is not protected like gender, age, race, etc are) it can be costly and time-consuming to fight it in courts by yourself.
I was tempted to send him a message asking the same question, but with GOP senators. But he asks way too much PII in his contact form.
Poor Master Roshi; blows up the moon to save the world from Goku, and he doesn’t even get an honorable mention.
A few slips couldn’t hurt I’m sure.
Edit: I swear I didn’t see @ummthatguy@lemmy.world’s comment before posting this.
pretty sure this would lead to some sort of economic crisis
And? We’ve already tried it the other way around, and we’ve really got nothing to lose at this point by trying OOP’s idea out.
And unfortunately until the community puts their collective foot down, these game developers (Nintendo, EA, etc) will continue churning out dog shit.
You know what else hasn’t kept up with inflation? Wages.
So before you go espousing raising prices, let’s first make it so people can afford the higher costs.
Unpopular opinion:
They could probably charge $100 and people would still buy them, despite knowing the games aren’t worth that much. Consumers don’t really care; they just want their dopamine fixes. Nintendo could wrap a literal turd up and label it the next Zelda game, and people would bum rush stores with fistfuls of money to buy it; just because.
Lossless JPEG would be amazing.
Apple IIe - those were the good ol days.
I mean just ask Clarence Thomas. From what I’ve gleaned, he hasn’t paid for shit in years.
We are far beyond elections saving us. Trump’s threat of dictatorship not withstanding, we’ve got a stacked court system ready to rule in Republican favor, and Republicans have gerrymandered their way to victory where they would have otherwise lost.
No amount of voting is going to fix this mess.
Gaia is the OG MILF. 🤤
Hate to say it, but good. We need to hit the tipping point and soon.
You could say the same about laws, considering how no one is enforcing them against the current administration.
For decades it has been ingrained in men that they are to be held to a very specific standard. Men don’t cry, men are strong, men have to take care of everyone else, stop your whining, I’ll give you something to cry about, be the alpha male, that’s “gay”, strength, weakness, and so on.
My father, and grandfather, both grew up with a code of silence. Feelings weren’t talked about, but relayed through their wives; except anger. That was given directly through corporal punishment (hand or belt).
I was always “emotional” growing up. I cried “like a baby” over “nothing”. No one ever came to check on me, or console me, during any of my “fits”. In fact, there were times I was ridiculed for it (sometimes by family members).
When I was 19 my grandmother died. I was really close with her; she was the only one who ever came to my aid and defended me. It tore me up so bad I could barely talk without breaking down. I was told multiple times that I shouldn’t be so upset, and that I was overreacting (by my family). Everything came to a head when all at once my cousins, aunts, uncles, and even brother yelled at me because I was being selfish and unreasonable, and insensitive to my grandfather because “he just lost his wife”.
Oh, and apologies are for “pussies”.
Anyway, it’s not really about me. I wanted to paint a picture for you as to why I’m lonely. Do with that what you will.
Apparently his “d” was big enough for Nuzzi. ba dum tiss 🥁
I’ll see myself out.
