Nigel Farage has said violent UK offenders could be jailed overseas under his plans to cut crime by half.

The Reform UK leader named El Salvador as a likely destination, though he said he has not held conversations with officials there and “multiple” partners would be considered.

El Salvador is home to a notorious mega-prison, the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT).

    Does Farage want another Australia?

Can we please stop giving a fucking megaphone to every brain-dead thing a nazi says? This is why they win. Their comments is the only thing anyone hears, they become a mainstream opinion, because their opinion is the only thing anyone hears in the mainstream.

Why are all these far right dickheads - who normally decry the very concept of sending “our” money to “foreigners” - so horny to send millions to foreign countries when it suits them? I know why, I wonder what their supporters would think if you phrased it like that though

This isn’t unique to the far right. UK Labour has been on the anti-immigration warpath since their election, having fully swallowed the “Brexit” pill and embraced xenophobia as a popular election strategy.

As the domestic economy contracts at the proletariat level, capital needs to displace blame for its own failures onto marginalized and politically powerless groups. Migrants - particularly undocumented migrants - are easy targets. Farrage is repeating the “Send them to El Salvador” line because its the high water mark for American reactionaries. But he’s just in a game of one-upsmanship with Keir Starmer, who will likely come back with a “That’s too expensive, we can dispose of migrants more cheaply” rebuttal.

Farage is a traitor. Not hyperbole. If someone went through his devices and financials there would be enough Russia and American bribery and colluding to reopen the tower of London’s gallows.

That’'s an article summarized as: “Wannabe fascist dictator finally admits he’s up for having the government begin torturing and killing people he doesn’t like.”

Sadly he will be hugely popular because empathy seems to have been removed by the covid crisis.

Yeah we need a long arse conversation about what a “violent offender” is. An offender of the UK law is obvious enough, although I would prefer offenders of humanist and ethical laws to be the focus. “Violent” in my opinion should only be used to refer to individuals who are a persistent danger to others, despite attempts to rehabilitate. For example, someone who defies state law to protect others in a way that isn’t harmful to anyone does not qualify as violent under the humanist law. Neither do individuals whose only claim to state legal scrutiny is their skin pigmentation.
