my wife is a teacher. she’s going to work because not everyone can afford to take off and a lot of folk use school as day care (and y’all shouldn’t really be taking your 5 and 6 year olds picketing against ICE when the feds are liable to use chemical weapons against you) but like, it’d be nice to just piss off and let the littles fend for themselves.

-30F doesn’t exist here, but we get hella strong winds. A dozen MPH shy of Wyoming wind (I am blessed with excellent weather). I do not envy you that wind chill. Last time I remember the district canceling school it was flooding. Maybe fire. IDK I was shoveling sandbags or fleeing the fire, one of the two.

Really it’s people in key positions that need to do it that’ll affect the common apathetic person in the USA. What’s that, the local food places are closed? Where are they going to eat for lunch sorta thing.

Keep being active everyone and get more people doing!! Power to the people!!! The more of us doing the stronger we all are!!

Also let’s round up what the Alt-Right is doing and some Alt-Left establishment government is supporting did not take into account:

    • People from Right AND millions of Left nationwide in USA carry all kinds of firearms (The alt-left establishment pushes hard to remove firearms but decent amount of people do not support that)
    • Plenty of Left-leaning people vote right in Ruby red and purple states to not be ostracized so almost any Ruby red state can flip
    • They underestimate the rage people have had boiling for so many decades from not getting our needs meet
    • They did not expect a united resistance to all that they are doing back then to now from people all over world and here
    • If they really wanna continue this a stupid game they will really FAFO in every way imaginable!!

The goal of all of us real people who care on left and right here in USA is to unite to take back our country and primary all the traitors from alt-left and alt-right establishment in office/upcoming candidates.

Also after this is all resolved we need to promote things that encourage dialogue between sides and gets people to meet each other halfway way more. Also to go back to where left and right parties were before Reagan instead of the far far right it is leaned into right now. Also reinstating good things we had before

This is a good wakeup call to get younger candidates to get elected too since they are way less likely to be compromised and have personal experience with failure of the system

We outnumber them by millions in people and brainpower here and worldwide. Just all of us doing makes us all win. 99% wins vs 1% every time when people just show up.

Edit: Lets be clear. Im left leaning and alt-right (MAGA) are doing all this today in Minnesota and nationwide. Alt-let admin isnt doing anything substantial to stop them and take AIPAC too. Dont put your heads in sand and be blind we must solve issues. Mainly this alt-right admin right now. Fuck MAGA just making that clear for some who misinterpreted what Im trying to say

Democrats are not “alt-left”. Honestly you’re coming across as a right whinger trying to pretend it’s a both sides thing and not the alt-right being straight up modern day Nazis.

Nope I’m a left leaning person just seeing the facts through research. Its mainly alt-right doing this but we have to all admit the alt-left admin mostly isnt doing anything to stop it, and has taken AIPAC as well. We cant solve issue if we dont solve both sides. But to be clear it is more alt-right than alt-left currently. Alt-left are way more quiet about what they do. They each cause their own problems. Stop being blinded and misinterpreting what Im trying to say. Im on your damn side fucking a. Updated original comment too. All this is on alt-right for what they are doing to people but look at the fucking response there isnt enough from those in positions of power from the alt-left. Not all the left in power just a decent amount. Look for yourself who takes AIPAC and who is and is not doing daily with organization and action to help the people. The alt-right are Nazis and I am not against you just miscommunication

FYI - you don’t need permission from anyone or confirmation that others will join you to call in sick tomorrow. This is literally one of the easiest things you could do to show your support. It’s not enough on its own but if we can’t even do this much we won’t do more either.

If people are too worried about losing their jobs and can’t just not turn up, would an economic shutdown work instead? - like nobody spend any money. No restaurants, groceries, don’t go to the mall or buy anything on line, etc.

We should do something big instead of spending 20 minutes haphazardly throwing together an afternoon with posters and calling it a general strike.

We need to plan a real, actual shutdown a few weeks out so we can make sure individuals can prepare to survive the strike while we wreck the economy.

The biggest problem we are facing with a general strike is that there aren’t enough people that can easily put their life on hold without sacrificing everything they have. People keep screaming “general strike!” to a bunch of people that live paycheck to paycheck. The best we can do is get the ball rolling right now for those that can’t.

Personally I’m just sick of apathy at this point. Of course this general strike will not be enough. Doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be done.

Appeasement of the establishment is what got Americans to this point. The only way out it to do something that they haven’t done before. From what many Americans post, their lives are already on perma hold.

This is the easiest thing in the world for someone to say, but it’s totally different if you wouldn’t have money for rent, or medication or food if you lose your job. If you have kids to care for who might suffer for your actions.

I have a medication that prevents me from dying a painful slow death. Any damage I take while waiting for medicaid to kick in is permanent. My daughter has autism and adhd. I’m hours away from family.

Let’s say I wasn’t the lucky one who has savings, that’s a hell of a situation to gamble with. I’m willing to not spend and my kid has already been pulled for homeschooling for her safety since we’re not white. I’m not even sure what an invalid and a kid are gonna do at a protest

Neither of you are wrong. This isn’t going away until a lot of people do something different.

And a lot of people are in your situation - they don’t have the power to do anything, even if they wanted to.

The answer is just that before this goes away, it’s going to get a lot worse first.

You must have never seen these dickheads recoil over stock fluctuations day after day. They care about their pockets and they care about your pockets. You think stupid doesn’t react first. You think the sleepy right won’t have something to cry about immediately? They cry over words and ideas, actions really scare them, that’s why they cry about weaponry in their culture void.

Yeah tomorrow is not exactly the best day to go out in the streets. There’s a massive winter storm rolling in that’ll shutdown most of the country. Minneapolis, St. Paul and the rest of the Midwest will be seeing temperatures plunge down into the negative 40s. That’s mild frostbite in minutes in you are well bundled up, if your not you will get severe frostbite in minutes. Severe frostbite is no joke either, that will easily cost you a limb if you are lucky, your life if you’re unlucky. We are gonna happily stay the fuck inside tomorrow.

Right, if you just buy double the day after, it meant nothing. My idea is to coordinate one big entity at a time. Target can survive one day, but not one whole quarter if we cancel them hard. Then we move on to the next shithead company.
