You do not want a constitutional convention in this political climate. Amending the constitution requires 3/4 of state legislatures to ratify the amendment. Considering a solid majority of states have Republican controlled legislatures, the only things we’re likely to get from a convention are amendments banning DEI initiatives and trans people in sports, or something even worse.

I don’t think it’s that simple. I know young people who emigrated from Ukraine and still have family there that voted for Trump in 2024. I would wager that they care more than you or I do what happens in Ukraine. It didn’t stop them from voting for Trump.

I read the conversation. I’m asking if this is the part of the equation you want to focus on. It seems pretty irrelevant to me, especially considering the fact that you could very easily argue that all the climate change mitigation Biden managed to push through is more than offset by the damage Trump is currently doing, and his election is a direct result of Biden’s failure to protect democracy. Either way you look at it, Biden screwed the pooch.
