Donald Trump said Friday his administration will take action on Greenland “whether they like it or not,” further escalating his rhetoric as he pushes to acquire the Danish territory for the U.S.

The comments came during a meeting with oil executives to discuss the prospect of doing business in Venezuela. Less than a week earlier, the U.S. military invaded the oil-rich South American nation and captured its leader, Nicolás Maduro.

Denmark and its European allies in NATO – the military alliance co-founded by the U.S. – have pushed back, reiterating that Greenland is not for sale. But the Trump administration nevertheless says it is currently weighing a range of options on Greenland, including utilizing the U.S. military or cutting a deal to purchase it from Denmark.

Aside from the fact he wears that suit about as well as a toddler posing for a holiday photo, he is LITERALLY wearing a lapel pin of HIMSELF. Jesusfuckingchrist.jpg

This is what makes Putin very happy despite losses in Ukraine and some Russian domestic uncertainty.

He really wants to achieve the impossible, to distinguish himself from Brezhnev: defeat the West without even firing a shot.

    Fuckin hell, this guy

“I would like to make a deal, you know, the easy way. But if we don’t do it the easy way, we’re going to do it the hard way,” Trump said at the White House.

Many have outlined Trump’s mafia-style speech. Like the truly wealthy, the mafia is a group he admires, was never allowed into, wants to imitate.

It’s so clear I want to scream. The US watched the man make a fool of himself in the 80s and 90s, he was tabloid trash. Even The Apprentice made fun of his bombastic nature, but apparently neither Trump not his fans were in on the joke.

How many children in the 1980s were acutely aware of Trump? I imagine very few. You’re talking about people who were in their twenties and older in the 1980s. And if you were 25 in 1984, you were 65 in 2024. A lot of the electorate is simply too young to remember Trump in his 1980s incarnation. And while older voters do vote at higher rates, the difference is massively overblown.

He was a showman in The Apprentice, isn’t that enough to disqualify him as the unserious, self-centered and money hungry person he is? Nvm rapey, pedo, racist, etc etc. America is just a country of stupid lost souls, that’s all.

You’re not wrong but that message needs to come from the leaders of the EU. The fact that it isn’t says as much about your leaders as what you’re saying does about the US.

The EU is a mob boss’ wife (except we also have blood on our hands, we take part of American excursions cause we’re team West), European countries are just vassal states and our so-called leaders are shameless whores. I know, I live here, shit’s sad. And, while we aren’t as culturally primed to worship violence, there are still too many “MAGAs” (white supremacists) over here still.

Makes one wonder how much they planned this out. The Epstein files could picture Trump balls deep in a 13-yo girl, nothing would happen.

The fascists have larger goals in mind. They’re speed running WWII, trying to avoid the Nazi’s mistakes, so good so far. But like the Nazis, giddy over the lack of internal or external resistance, they’re biting off more than then can chew, way too fast. Cheap gasoline at the pumps only goes so far. They’re not energizing the whole economy like the Nazis did, people aren’t feeling it.

No idea what comes next. But the American Empire is over. Our economy is just too large to fall over quickly. But AI gives us hope! (Of crashing…) The Buffett Index is higher than either during the Great Depression or the 2008 recession. We have 200%+ more fake money in the stock market than our GDP. The cost will be staggering.

Can all y’all grow potatoes? I can, but I’m not very good at it.

If they had any balls at all, potential Democratic hopefuls for 2028 should be announcing now,

“If Trump takes Greenland or any other country’s land, I’ll give it back immediately if elected.”

That’s not really what happens, from what I’ve observed. I think once a policy has been woven into action, it’s difficult to unpick all of the new dependencies and go backwards without wasting a tremendous amount pf resources. Most of what Trump has been doing is probably here to stay. The Democrats are super neutral on everything. there’s almost nobody pushing to the left.

The US has given up captured territories before. Including the Panama Canal Zone, the Philippines, Cuba, and others.

Trumps whole thing is throwing grenades and leaving others to deal with a fallout. No matter what happens with Greenland he’s irreprably damaged the USs alliances everywhere. The possibility the US is fickle enough to invade an ally and then undo it in 4 years is insane. Any successor to trump that wants to backtrack needs to sort out the rampant unchecked power of the office, not to mention the lack of accountability at so many levels of the government.
