    Hi, mod here.

Thanks for saying that. Yahoo tries to set millions of data harvesting cookies, it’s insane. Declining it means no video in this case.

To paraphrase Brennan Lee Mulligan, paraphrasing Michel Foucault, “Laws are threats made by the dominant socio-economic ethnic group in a given nation. It’s just a promise of violence that’s enacted and police are basically an occupying army.”

How paraphrased are we talking, here? Because I’m pretty sure laws like “Don’t murder” and “Don’t rape” and the ability to punish people who break those laws aren’t just an expression of one socio-economic ethnic group maintaining violent occupation over another.

Except even “don’t murder” and “don’t rape” isn’t equally applied to all citizen. In the US, you got the orange man as the prime example. Here in Canada, you just gotta look at how first nations victims are more often than not left to fend for themselves, while Mounties will ignore them if the case involves any type of effort.

I remember watching a video like this but it was on Reddit and it was top post. It was also happening in Moscow, not the USA.

“The country of freedom” accuses the other country of their censorship in media, but then it starts doing the same things.

    Freedom my ass I say

Fuck every US tech company while you’re at it

Once this is over, and one day it will, we can’t forget this, we can’t forget what IS tech companies did under trump

Which, I’m sure, means that people will forget in about 5 minutes and then they return to the cool US napy tech

Hmmm, I wonder who gives the tech company low-interest loans and much more? This tech bubble would not be possible without the support of international banking. Too big to fail, and so on.

Don’t stop at tech or the USA, that won’t accomplish anything. International banking cartel will buy the drop at bargain prices, AND give loans for the rebuild. I wonder who controls USA money? Oh, the FED. I wonder who these guys in the FED are? Oh look, those same banks.

They are not even hiding it

If you aren’t a rich white man it was never free. Most of us are just more adjacent to poverty(increase cost of food and housing) and injustice(ice raids in the suburbs) because we’re in an economic valley. IMO If/ win the employment number recover the median voter will forget all about this

Meh. This was the local police. They wanted the group off the road, and the group wouldn’t move. I don’t really have a problem with this. These protests that block traffic and stuff hurt the wrong people. The guy or girl driving wherever shouldn’t be the target. Try disrupting actual commerce or production if you want to get the attention of the people in power.

Yes, but disruptive to who. I am saying this was disruptive to people who have no power to change anything. Go block the access point to a major commercial point of entry or something. That will at least hurt the trucking company because they have to pay the drivers either way.

Economies utilize roads. Average Joe driving to work is engaging in commerce and/or production.

And the boss will take it out of average Joe’s payif he is hourly. If he is salary he will have to make up the lost time. The company will feel no pain at all.

It appeared to me that she was on the sidewalk?? How you gonna say she was blocking the road when she’s on the sidewalk? Isn’t that where people are supposed to be?

What it said was that she was leading the protest, and both her and others had refused to leave the road when ordered. Likely this was by one or two cops. When they had to call more out, they arrested the people who had refused the order. At that point she was on the sidewalk, but they knew who she was.

Yeah, that’s the real threat. An arrest record will absolutely jack up future background checks on future employment. Which you’re going to encounter since your current employer will drop you for being a no-show. That will leave you without health insurance, threatening your savings until you can get employed again. Which will be very hard to overcome due to high unemployment (in some markets) and that arrest record.

The fact that there’s a through-line from “no social safety net” all the way to “compliant populace” is worrying to say the least.

Thankfully it seems like no one said this yet, so just inb4:

She was not stupid, nor useless or played into their hand. Be inspired and take example. Being arrested for a little bit is not that big of a price to pay for resisting tyranny.

More importantly, without blindly believing it will automatically come true, at least put the scenario where you win into your heads. Going to prison for what’s right can actually be liberating, if you think about it. And people can be taken out of prison too, together with all those that were imprisoned for getting or giving an abortion, those that immigrated “illegally” but spent decades contributing to the US’s society and economy, those that only had a bunch of weed on them, etc. Maybe even the whole “for-profit prison” concept may finally come to an end. Imagine that!

If this had happened in Venezuela in last couple of days the media would be loosing it’s shit. The image of that arrest would be immortalized and treated like the Saigon pistol execution.

Immediately following the attack, bombing and kidnapping of Maduro, journalists were rounded up around the country.

Our media isn’t making a stink about it because they are complicit in the manufacturing of a narrative here and you can’t have people in Venezuela contradicting that narrative.

Getting REAL close to my home fascist pig fucks. I am very please that my State is both concealed and open carry. This shit WILL NOT STOP until they start getting pushed back, HARD. I have been hearing chatter in the streets in regards to ‘while you are in the streets kidnapping us, who is watching your house’?
