In a speech to American troops assembled in Japan on Tuesday, President Trump said he would escalate his orders to active duty branches of the military if he decides it is appropriate.
In short, he is preparing to make war against Americans

I think the president is capable of durations up to seven seconds where he’s not actively committing a crime. However, this measurement and the conclusions it reaches disregards background crimes that are only in progress, and only measures new crimes initiated.

I think it’s just them realizing that without the military protecting them by threat or actual force, they’re liable to be literally on the chopping block. To that end, I will note that the private military contractors have seemingly been disturbingly quiet for having an authoritarian in power.

That’s the big question isn’t it? I don’t know the legality behind it, but being paid by someone other than the citizenry is extremely problematic. Taking an oath to the Constitution (that protects the rights of the people) while being paid by an individual, well that starts turning the corner from standing army to being mercenaries.

Everyone should be arming themselves and everyone they know. Eventually they will try to prevent anyone who registered/voted Democrat from purchasing a firearm. Everyone should be forming networks with like-minded people using only end-to-end encrypted messaging apps. This is not going to stop. This is not going plateau and fizzle out. We’re locked in now. It will escalate until we live in a fully authoritarian state or until we do something about it.

Reasonable gun control measures to reduce gun violence, especially in schools vs. blocking any possible dissenters of a fascist regime from defending themselves. I’d say that the latter sounds like a bad idea.
