ACAB
That’ll teach him to… checks notes turn off his headlights in between rain downpours… such a wanton criminal.
Wait, he’s a dumpling thief??? What is the world coming to?
Well, why was he black?
He was clearly guilty of a DWB.
Lottery ticket and I hope he wins. Then again, it’s in the Deregulated Nazi run Florida Oblast.
Cops casually assaulting people for no real reason has become the norm. 30 years ago that would have been a crime.
30 years ago…? 30 years ago they wouldn’t have been on camera doing it, you’d just never know it happened.
that… sounds right. I guess 30 years ago I wouldn’t have expected to be assaulted by the cops, and now I 100% do. And everyone else in the world sees the US as a very dangerous place to visit now too. Used to be different, but maybe it is just perception of what was always there.
Boy do I have some
goodterrible news for you…https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodney_King
It’s getting better but it’s still horrible, we need to reform policing as a whole in this country (USA).
30 years ago it would have happened more frequently and simply wouldn’t have been reported on. The BIPOC community has known for generations that cops are oppressors who use violence as their primary form of communication. The advent of phone cameras has simply allowed it to be recorded and broadcast often enough to enter white peoples’ zeitgeist.
This is nothing new, and 30 years ago nothing would have been done about it. Hell, 60-70 years ago, the cops would have been joined by an angry mob, and the dude would have been lynched just because the crowd wanted some entertainment. The 1950s and ‘60s weren’t that long ago. Trump’s entire generation was born and raised when segregation was still the norm, and Jim Crowism was expected.

I know no one wants to hear this but he was asked multiple times to get out and refused to show ID. They shouldn’t have handled it like they did but dude fucked around and found out.
No reason to assault the guy

Hence the words ‘they shouldn’t have handled it like they did’
If I acted like that I would expect a ass whooping. Not because its right or just. Its because its the way things are. It doesn’t have to be that way but the only way it will change is if the silent non voting fuckheads get up off their ass and vote. In order for that to happen things will have to get worse before those complacent clueless dipshits figure out what anyone can already see.
Talk about a bunch of dudes with fragile egos getting their feelings hurt because the man has the gaul to question their authority and demand their supervisor. That’s such limp dick behavior and is a fucking disgrace. Even if the cops were in the right for pulling him over (not having your headlights on? Really?) that’s just ridiculous.
Headlights off at 4pm on an overcast day. Not raining, not even misty. Just overcast.
People saying the victim deserved it because her didn’t act like a “perfect victim” are soft between the ears
You can clearly see in the video that visibility was not that bad. The video was shot from most likely a screen side camera and not the main camera so it’s not like there was a ton it could do to upscale the quality. Even the cops perspective it was mid day at best and shows they were fishing for sure.
As for folks arguing against this it’s just apologists grasping at straws to justify why this man was pulled over on flimsy at best reasons. It started simply so a cop (and then multiple cops) could stroke their authority egos.
Even if the initial cop that pulled him over was coming from a legit placed of concern he clearly couldn’t keep his boy with the wild fists under control so he’s just as culpable. Not one of those officers reacted to officer fisticuffs and that’s simply not okay.
Some folks can’t seem to grasp the concept that shitty or incompetent people can wind up in a place of authority and that these officers can’t be placed upon a pedestal simply due to their position. Actions speak louder than words. Period.
Well, they’re racists
It’s also in the middle of summer too rn when the sun doesn’t set until 9pm.
This happened in February, but it is clearly still light out. Cop said they should be on because of the weather anyways (that he must’ve been imagining), not because it was dark.
Gall*, Gaul would be the region of Western Europe conquered by Rome (to put it simply).
I’m sorry, I just used to type it like this too. Carry on.
I was half drunk when I typed that, but even sober me didn’t notice the difference. I legit appreciate this and that fact you didn’t belittle me means you came from a place of education and I respect the hell out of that.
Is there a video from source not built by one of these Florida cop’s retarded nephews?
stop using “retarded” as a slur.
This was downvoted for some odd reason. I corrected the issue.
It is a slur if used as a pejorative.
Presumably the video is shot from a dashcam?
No, I mean, I try tapping the video to fullscreen it, and it just plays more ads and skips to the next video. Then that unrelated video can be fullscreened. Hosting source, not photographer.
Cameras “can only capture what can be seen and heard,” the sheriff added.
Don’t believe your lying eyes.
Meaning they get to lie their asses off.
The sheriff said the cellphone camera footage from inside the car “does not comprehensively capture the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
Bullshit.
As always, ACAB.
That and the following quotes are just over the top. The cop states it so plainly I can just hear how he actually believes this. It’s not the same reality I live in.
How does having your headlights off on a cloudy day justify forcing a motorist out of their vehicle?
“Part of that stems from the distance and perspective of the recording cell phone camera,” the sheriff said in a statement, adding that the video did not capture events that occurred before officers decided to arrest McNeil.
Yeah, because they were still in their car when they decided to arrest him for no reason.
Prior events shouldn’t matter. There’s zero cause to punch a suspect that isn’t an immediate threat.
Well, you see, it was a combination of him being black.
I saw the body cam footage. While they definitely used excessive force when they beat him up, he resisted arrest and was being overall combative. When the cop asked him for his ids he says no and slams the door closed and locks it. (His window was broken so he was communicating by opening the door)
The cop showed amazing composure by not immediately breaking the window and pulling him out. If that would have happened imo it would have been justified.
People around you must be showing amazing composure if you can still talk shit like this
The original intent of the stop was a headlight violation.
The problem with that is that it wasn’t raining, invalidating the reason for the stop.
From that point forward, the interaction should have immediately stopped. Without PC for the headlight violation, the police had no authority to demand ID. Since they couldn’t demand ID, they didn’t have a reason to arrest. That invalidates the resisting charge.
Start to finish this was a crazy interaction and I hope every cop involved has a very happy get lynched in front of their families. :)
I am not arguing that point at all. His rights were 100% violated. But you and everyone else fail to make decisions based on reality.
Everyone knows police abuse is a problem. Would you rather be right or dead? Instead of complying and filing suit later, he decided to make a bad situation 100x worse. As I said based on his reaction in slamming the door it is 100% reasonable that the officer making the stop would fear for his life. Regardless that the stop was illegal, IN THAT MOMENT, the cop would have been justified in drawing his weapon. Thankfully he didn’t and the young man is alive.
How exactly would an officer fear for his life when a door was slammed specifically to put distance between the victim and the officer?
I mean, police officers get scared from acorns falling on their cars. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone closing their door causes an officer to fear for their life.
Go watch the tape bro. You don’t have to take my word for it. There is a reason you’re only seeing the perspective from inside the car on social media.

They try to claim he reached for a knife on the floor, the video is pretty clear in the fact that he is no threat and isn’t reaching for anything from before the window is broken till after he is dragged out.
Given that nobody even spotted the knife until they had already arrested him and removed him from the scene… I’m pretty sure the knife wasn’t there until after the arrest.
In fact, it’s very clear his entire intent is to try to make it impossible for them to claim he was reaching for something. And they still claimed it… like, if he had complied and reached to take off his seatbelt, they probably would have shot him…
Making false charges to protect their own ego and fascist oinkery should be a felony, especially since it can and frequently does cause egregious harm such as loss of job, possible loss of relationship, possible loss of children, etc etc.
