They can do the same they did with the reboot ones: Heavily imply it’s post-instrumentality fuckery that somehow reset the world, and now everything’s the same but a bit different again but somehow some people sorta remember stuff from before.
They are making a new series. I don’t know how it is going to work, but Yoko Taro (the moon-headed Nier Automata guy) is going to be in charge of it, and he is about the only person I can see pulling it off.
This is sooo high up my backlog since back in the days when streaming was king. I gotta watch it now that the seas have taken over again.
