Rip off the windshield wiper. They’re proprietary to this vehicle and aren’t cheap.
Only in minecmaft, of course.
I flip off every cybercuck I see. You can’t own one without supporting a fascist so everyone driving one is an asshole. I think you should be socially ostracized for owning one of these pieces of shit and I am doing my part.
Where the license plate numbers at?
Only 29 US states require a front plate
Illinois, where this pic is from, is one of those states! Maybe this car is from out of town
Many teslas in Illinois do not have their front plates. It is the law here and when I questioned an officer about enforcement, he stated, “It will just get tossed out.” That and police hate doing their jobs.
I live in Wisconsin and it’s the same here. I don’t have one on the front of my car cause I would have to drill holes in mine to install one (no idea why it didn’t come with a place for one already setup, it’s originally from Illinois), but also I only drive rarely and when I essentially have to, or in the winter because my local bike infrastructure is seasonal. Never had any issue with it.

You should look into studded bike tires. I was in a similar situation but figured out how to ride in the winter even in my town that completely half asses snow removal. Sold my car and started using uber/lyft and an hourly car rental service (zipcar) to fill in the gaps. I’ve saved thousands of dollars in no time and now I don’t have to maintain a car anymore.
Oh that’s interesting, thank you. I’d never heard of those before.
Maybe this car is from out of town
Likely. Several states that don’t require front plates border Illinois
Kind of funny to see, “only” used to describe 3/5 of a whole. That’s most states, though even the ones that do require it rarely use it as more than a pretense for a stop.
Please photograph the license plate next time.
For what purpose?
Why is there even a parking meter there if it’s a bus lane?
It’s not a parking meter. It’s one of those electronic paying stations (pay box). You can zoom in. It even says so.
They’re there because the city needs to pay the private company that owns the parking spots for the space the bus lane occupies
(Actually not sure about this specific case, but wouldn’t be surprised if it was, since Chicago Parking Meters owns all the parking meters too)
Chicago Parking Meters - Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Parking_Meters
Because its a probably legal parking space. City painted the bus lane about a car length too soon, or the no parking sign a car length too late.
Why is there a parking payment kiosk next to the bus lane on a road with no street parking? Something isn’t adding up here.
Found the location on street view. The bus lane is a weird partial bus lane that only exists on part of the block. Most of the lane is available for parking.

The bus lane areas are painted red, and there is a sign at the start saying no parking/tow away zone. But they aren’t aligned properly. The red pavement starts about a car legnth before the no parking/tow away sign.
In most traffic codes, signage takes precidence over painted markings on the street. So as far as I can tell, the truck in the picture is parked legally, despite being on red pavement.
This is some particularly stupid street design, and this post is an incredibly manipulatively framed picture, with the sign just out of frame, but not an example of illegal street parking.
He’ll screech about public transport being communism or something if confronted.
No registration plate on the front? That’d be illegal where I’m from. You need to be able to identify the car from both sides, after all.
That’s the law in Illinois as well.
Well maybe it’s time that bus and tram get a cow plow at the front like trains had.
I see this suggestion quite frequently and outside being a juvenile hot take, it is from a practical perspective, a terrible idea.
Most obviously, colliding with other vehicles would make bus passengers experience far worse.
There would be enourmous public backlash against the government regularly destroying private property like Mad Max.
Busses aren’t designed to flip cars out of the way, and would suffer undue wear and tear, costing the city money.
No space for a bike rack up front.
Eventually a bus would flip a car out of the way onto the sidewalk, and it would roll over onto a pedestrian and kill them.
Then maybe a ramp that flips cars to the middle of the road and the passengers get better seats or some kind of Convair system that drags cars into a shredder
nah. slap a TOW on there.
Asking to be keyed
That looks like a cybertruck, does it even have paint to be damaged?
It has a wrap. Which is replaceable at great cost to the owner. It would be a shame if someone used it as a whiteboard or somehow water got underneath the wrap or if it found itself by a fire.
But this Tesla is illegally parking and stealing money from a private equity firm since Chicago sold all their parking revenue…
Call it in. All cities have a number you can call to report illegal parking. I had a guy park his stupid huge pickup truck and trailer in the alleyway by my house, blocked me into my own driveway. Totally illegal to park there.
I called the parking violation report hotline I found online for my city. Within about 30 minutes a cop showed up, got out and looked at the truck, made a call on his radio, and 20 minutes later a tow truck got there and towed the whole thing away.
Didn’t cost me a dime, and the loser who parked it there not only had an absolutely shit day when he found out his truck and trailer got towed, but also had to pay out the nose to get it back from the impound lot. Win win!
It’s weird that it’s almost the width of the lane…
Is it?
The most sold car in America is the rav4 which is 72 inches wide. The cybertruck is only 6 inches wider. A Prius is 72 inches wide. The “mini” Cooper is 68 inches.
Width is pretty standard these days.
They were probably saying something nasty about elon and it just stopped and kicked them out
Tempting to stick something like “$1 a hit” and then leave a sledgehammer by the curb.
Now I’m wondering how illegal it would be to put a sign like that and a hammer on the sidewalk next to the car.
Sure, it’s littering. But would it be anything else apart from that?
