That dollar sign is really setting off my inner pedant.
She actually said “The DOW is over fifty thousand do… I don’t know why you’re laughing!” it sounded like she was going to say “fifty thousand dollars” but got side tracked mid word.
Well that’s slightly more depressing.
They know absolutely nothing, but learned they can climb to the very peaks of power in the world by lying brazenly. It’s depressing.
Even more depressing how many people are still like “Is… is that right? I dunno how to feel about that, like, maybe they think they’re telling the truth or it’s nuanced or something…”
Same. I’m sure Bondi thought the dollar sign in front of it though. She was just parroting from a paper, she probably doesn’t know what the DOW number means or stands for, which may help her into believing its somehow relates to the Files.
It kept me from reusing it.

Is it trickling down yet or have the frogs finally realized they are getting cooked?
Best use of Zach’s watchmen I ever seen.
If the Dow is only worth $50K we’re in trouble, no?
Nah if the Dow hits $50k, I’m only marginally worse off, that sounds like some former billionaires problem!
What kind of creepy ass batman is that?
It’s interesting what they’ve done, they separated the iconic personas of Batman into two separate characters. The one you see now is Owlman, who is the rich, trustfund kid, but dweeb version of Batman. Meanwhile, another character named Rohrscach, who is poor, but personifies the badass, street smart and indomitable version of Batman. An Easter egg at the opening credits of the film are the Waynes dying, including Bruce. Those two personas of Batman went to those characters instead, because Batman doesn’t exist in this universe.
Edit: clarity
You could split their morals too.
Rorschach has shit morals. But his morals are rock solid. As in, he’s cool with murder, hates gays, etc, but he’s not going to budge on an issue he sees as problematic.
Owlman doesn’t like murder and generally more morally sound. But he buckles under zero pressure.
It’s an owl! Makes sense.
You’ve never seen Watchmen?? Man I wish I could back and watch it for the first time. Great “superhero” movie.
I think I saw it but all I remember is the blue guy going to Mars or something.
I’ve actually never seen it, but so much of it is spoiled based on a large amount of memes, misunderstandings, and memes of misunderstandings that I feel like I won’t enjoy it much watching it. I might be wrong though.
The show was good too!
The graphic novel is good too!
