You know, what I said was largely right but reading a few articles about the changes makes it apparent that your interpretation is also right.

At the time, U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach said the coinage design is supposed to “celebrate American history and the founding of our great nation,” but that imagery was scrapped because “the Biden Administration and Secretary Yellen remained focused on DEI and Critical Race Theory policies.”

I’ve seen others suggest that this is commemorative of the revolutionary war. This year is the 250th anniversary of the United States. The lack of an olive leaf was said to signify our unwillingness to compromise with England.

That’s how I read this, too. The government isn’t a monolith that just agrees with every law they have to follow. They do have to follow the law until it is challenged, though. Hopefully courts in KS knock this down.

1. A quick search brings up nothing with ICE and “warheads” so it doesn’t appear to be “widely reported”. Can you give evidence for your claims?
2. I didn’t say that the article is making unsubstantiated claims. I said that you are. The article is substantiated, it just isn’t all that surprising that ICE is spending more on weaponry as they hire more agents.
3. The story says nothing about slush funds or anything beyond ICE spending more on weaponry.
4. You are posting in a public forum. That is explicitly asking for conversation and feedback, even if you didn’t directly ask me for mine. If you don’t want people to respond, don’t post.

Raw Story already stretches the truth for clicks. You’re here just making completely unsubstantiated claims. They are doing more than enough heinous shit without people mudding the waters with lies.

In response to the article itself, which references a 360% increase in weapons spending, ICE more than doubled the number of agents it employs. I wish they wouldn’t, but they seem to think that all of these untrained traitors need weapons. It makes sense that they would have a massive increase in weapons purcheses to outfit the new traitors and the future traitors they’re hoping to hire.

This is a non-story for the most part and you don’t need to add lies to it.

And you think land lords won’t pass increased property taxes on to their tenants?

I don’t live in NYC so I won’t give an opinion on this but landlords won’t just eat increased taxes.

You’re incorrect. You would be correct for any other workers but federal employees are different. I was a federal employee and have witnessed those differences first-hand. The TSA is absolutely required to continue working without pay. If you search for info on it, there are many articles discussing this issue every time there is a shutdown. For example.

ICE has $75B on-hand from the “Big Bogus Bill” and is still operating as normal including continuing to pay agents and staff. Other DHS agencies, like the TSA, are shut down but many people are required to continue working without pay because they are “essential”.

She actually said “The DOW is over fifty thousand do… I don’t know why you’re laughing!” it sounded like she was going to say “fifty thousand dollars” but got side tracked mid word.

Trump has the thinnest skin of anyone alive. The comments that Hess made were extremely tame. Any other politician would just ignore his comments and move on but Trump has to be a baby. Only a loser could possibly dislike some of what Trump does; an Olympic-class loser.

I generally ignore anything from News Week, Raw Story, or the Daily Beast. They all do stuff like this. They twist facts to get a story where there is none.

The seat opened up after Republican state Sen. Kelly Hancock was tapped as acting state comptroller.

So, the Republicans felt comfortable enough in this district to intentionally trigger this election. They could have appointed someone from another district or someone who wasn’t holding a seat at all, but they thought they were safe. I think that shows just how badly they are underestimating the level of outrage right now.

This may be more pronounced, but this has been going on for at least 15 years and probably longer.
