Today, Congressman Shri Thanedar (MI-13) introduced articles of impeachment against Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, citing a sweeping abuse of power, flagrant violations of the Constitution, and acts of tyranny that undermine American democracy and threaten the rule of law.
“Donald Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that he is unfit to serve as President and represents a clear and present danger to our nation’s constitution and our democracy,” said Rep. Thanedar. “His unlawful actions have subverted the justice system, violated the separation of powers, and placed personal power and self-interest above public service. We cannot wait for more damage to be done. Congress must act.”
The resolution includes seven articles of impeachment outlining a range of constitutional violations.

Good for him. Unfortunately the Republicans are all vile, complicit lock-step party brownshirts, so nothing whatsoever will come of this.

I don’t get why people aren’t understanding what’s happening. They are setting a precedent that they never want used back against them and are setting it up so they don’t have to worry about it, and there is no real opposition party anyway. This is it, the turning point where control by the people and representation has been effectively taken away.
I don’t get why people like you jump to conclusions about shit all the time. It is POSSIBLE he can be removed in several ways… impeachment isn’t likely sure, but he isn’t a healthy person, he’s old, he has mental health decline, and people hate him and keep trying to kill him… anything can happen.
I’m not saying don’t try, I just think it’s naive to expect it to do anything and screams a population who hasn’t grown up seeing their nation taken over by authoritarians and fascism, something that happened many times in other places that Americans don’t think could possibly impact them here because “those people were brown and dumb.”
That average people still expect their “representatives” to fix things is the naive part.
Nobody is coming. If we want democracy we have to make it happen, as individuals, as people on the ground.

Impeachment on its own I can’t bring myself to care about. It needs to come with “and removal” for it to matter.
And even then that means president Vance. It would still matter because Vance is a weaker villain lacking the full undying support of the MAGA death cult but shit would still suck, just suck in a way where there would be more hope.
This is the first stage of the impeachment process, which leads to the removal you seek. This is an incredibly important step.
This process should proceed no matter who would take over the position. If an elected official wronged their constituents they must be held accountable regardless of anyone else’s current position.
Peter Theil is the Sociopathic Oligarch that holds Vance’s leash, and he is far worse than Skum. Skum is stupid, and ego/attention-driven, while Theil is intelligent and strategic. Theil is one of the primary leaders in the Sociopathic Oligarch Libertarian movement, following the writings of Curtis Yarvin (Google him). One of Yarvan’s most important principles is to do away with all democracies, and force nations answer to the Sociopathic Oligarchs, instead of them answering to nations. Vance is on board with this, and quotes Yarvin often.
Thing is there will never be another Trump. The cult dies with him.

The totally free, and ad free, app called “5 Calls” will help you with that. It provides you their phone number, and a script. You can setup reminders to call daily, weekly, or I suppose monthly.
Won’t they catch on that you’re just reading from a script if enough people are using this app, and thus calling in and saying the same thing over and over again?
Good. Now everyone needs to call, email, or visit with their reps to get this passed - assuming they can force a vote. It will only take 4 republicans crossing the aisle in the house to impeach him yet again. Then we need to hound our Senators to get a conviction. That will be the hardest part because it’ll take about 20 republicans to join all the democrats and independents to convict him.
And then someone still has to drag him out

At that point Vance would president, I think he’d be eager to move in to his new digs.

Vance won’t have the cult on his side. He has no way to force the fealty of the rest of his party.
In any scenario where Trump is removed from office via impeachment, he’s already lost his stranglehold on the party.
Or their party has lost its stranglehold on the country.
