I’m classifying Trump as a “post/pre/rapist” because he has rapped children and will probably do it again.
So the giant bailout that farmers are allegedly going to get counts as capitalism?
You know, I think the admin trying to make thought crime a thing actually deserves attention.
TBH, it’s starting to feel like bringing up Epstein in response to every single headline is itself becoming a distraction.
It’s become the literal definition of a meme at this point.
True blue memetics at work.
Mate, you’re getting distracted from the erosion of democracy by only thinking about some fucking papers that we all know implicate him already.
Mate, the release of the unredacted Epstein files is pretty much the only thing left with a nonzero chance of turning MAGA against Trump. They don’t care about the erosion of democracy, the illegal arrest and deportation of innocents, the economy, the USA becoming an international laughing stock, inflation, the cuts to government services, the wars, they don’t even care that he was convicted of raping adults! Uncontrovertible evidence that he likes to put his deformed micropenis inside children is the only thing that might still reach them.
I’m not putting my faith in a hail mary, personally. Something like this won’t make true difference, considering the things cultists have tolerated from leaders in the past.
Putting your faith in something and doing it because it’s all you can do at this point are two different things. I don’t currently live in the USA. I can’t go to protests. I’m not likely to be allowed to vote in the next election, if there is one. All I can do is pressure, weakly and indirectly, and this is one way of doing it.
I’d rather engage in gestures that may turn out to be a total waste than not doing anything, because that is guaranteed to be a total waste.
I don’t think you’re wrong. Weak resistance is better than no resistance. I think the Epstein files should be released, and Trump’s crimes be made undeniable. However, I have no doubt that we’ll need much more than that to get results. Certain people being above the law is foundational to America’s deepest flaws, and that won’t change under the current regime (barring extreme circumstances). Those files are becoming a distraction when they should really be a little bit of ammo supplementing several large blows aimed at toppling the whole regime, not just the current puppet.
why do you guys always bring up this image when the US is doing shit like this or blatantly attacking minorities, but never when it’s about trump’s fucking ballroom or whatever
they literally did, in like every single post about the dam ball room. every. single. one.
Be rhe change you want to see in the world.
Personally, it’s because I haven’t seen anybody post about the ballroom.
Honest, genuine question: would there be any point in this descent into fascism where you’d give up on this tactic?
I suppose I can still understand it at this stage: most conflict is still abroad, only 9 months in to the presidency, and the Epstein revelations are still fresh, but how long will you push this?
Will you still be shouting about Epstein once the first protestor is killed by ICE? What about after the first civilian doors are busted down? What about after trans people are definitively criminalized? What about after the first train is loaded up? What about after the first mass grave is discovered? What about after a few tens of thousands of Americans have been exterminated?
I’m not saying everything above is going to happen, but supposing they did, would you still be shouting Epstein? Because at this point, it appears as if you, along with the rest of the Epstein crowd, will be shouting about it regardless of however far we are into the fascist descent. I dont understand that.
What about after the first civilian doors are busted down?
Already happened in Chicago. They kicked in the doors of an entire apartment building.
Playing Devil’s advocate here:
Releasing the Epstein files is something that people on both the left and right can mostly agree on. Even a subset of MAGA want it.
On the other hand, killing protesters is disappointingly more of a partisan concern. Traditional Republicans probably wouldn’t approve, but MAGA has been brainwashed into supporting “retaliatory” violence against anyone left of them.
Pushing the Epstein files will, therefore, be more effective when trying to get people together.
Fuck. Off.
How do you all for not wanting to be wage slaves.
I was not aware that capitalism was something codified in the Constitution.
Even if it was, you’re allowed to be opposed to something in the constitution. That’s why we have amendments.
Wtf is a pre crime?
A flimsy justification for the evil shit they were already planning to do
It’s like pre cum. A tiny dribble to facilitate the real crime load.
Being profascism is also anticapitalist… Sooooooooo…
Fascism and capitalism work hand in glove. Capitalism is a key aspect of fascism.
How have 30+ people upvoted this? Are people that misinformed?
I just heard the other day that Mussolini supposedly said “Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power”, but this is apparently not something that can be found that he has said. Still, it’s not really wrong.
From duck.ai:
The Disputed Quote
The quote “Fascism should be called corporatism” is most likely an unconfirmed internet attribution that cannot be definitively traced to Mussolini’s actual writings or speeches. Specifically:
Verification Status: Unconfirmed According to sources like SourceWatch, the quote is considered an "internet hoax" Researchers like Chip Berlet (noted as Cberlet) have stated that no one can find an actual citation for this specific quote Conceptual Context While Mussolini did develop theories about the relationship between state and corporate power, this exact phrasing appears to be a modern paraphrase rather than a direct quote The concept of corporatism was indeed central to fascist ideology, which emphasized a tight integration between state power and economic institutions
Historical Interpretation
The misattributed quote reflects a genuine historical insight about fascist political philosophy:
Fascism, particularly in Mussolini's Italy, promoted a model where: The state had extensive control over economic institutions Corporations were seen as extensions of state power Economic entities were organized into state-controlled syndicates or associations
Modern Scholarly Perspective
Contemporary scholars like David Graeber have noted that the structural similarities between different political systems (social democracy, fascism, state communism) are more complex than traditional narratives suggest. The quote, while likely apocryphal, captures a kernel of truth about how power can be distributed between state and corporate entities. Conclusion
The specific quote is an unverified attribution. While it captures something meaningful about fascist ideology, it should not be presented as a direct Mussolini quote without rigorous historical verification.
fun fact: america never declared itself as capitalist, it was when the power of private companies exceeded the power of the government.
capitalism was a way of defining what happened when they took over….That’s a funny word for a “corruption”
corruptism
So we’re gonna start actively prosecuting thought crime now. Cool cool.
Welcome to the USA! We already had the world’s largest rates of obesity, depression and mass shootings, but now we also have a pedophile President, and - finally, amirite? - THOUGHTCRIME!
That will be one of the reasons used to arrest political opponents.
“You voted for something that benefits workers; straight to jail.”
The admin publicly admitting that you will be randomly disappeared by their terrorists unless you manage to kill your kidnappers.
Minority Report irl. Fantastic.
Happiness? Bah
Equal standards? Ugh
Profitable? That’s my moral standard
