That’s how social media gives impression that there is more hard right people.
Unfortunately it also amplifies the existing ones, because makes them think they are the majority.
how social media
Yes but also
how Russia funds social media bots
social media
Hell, PBS news last night kicked off with coverage of Kirk’s memorial service, which they described as having a “massive” turnout. Interesting that they never used the word “massive” to describe the recent anti-MAGA protests.
Tbf the memorial filled the stadium and people had to go into a prepped overflow space. Objectively speaking, that’s a good amount of folks.
NPR used terms like “flooding the streets” and “5 million people” to describe the anti maga protests, which should scratch the itch?
What articles are you referring to that don’t cover the protests to your satisfaction?
If you’re going to go after public broadcasting, which just lost all of its federal funding, I hope you have receipts.
The fact that anyone believes anything anyone says online anymore is ludicrous. Opinions were swayed by bots, that then pushed legitimate people over into an unrealistic ideology. Sure, there are REAL people saying this toxic shit, but it was all pushed over the edge by bots/bad actors.
The danger comes when people think ANY of these “top comments” are what ‘the public really thinks’.
We need a new net with no bots. with PRIVACY and no bots.
The spam detection works, though!
(As intended - on the ones criticising these posts.)
Lol
What I really don’t understand is why are we still seeing copy-pasted messages from bots in 2025. We have LLMs now. We had for a couple of years. It’s not that hard to generate unique messages. You’d think (the people operating) these bots would use that?
Bots on social media are like toupées, they look fake, unnatural and are easy to spot.
Does it mean that bots/toupees look fake and unnatural ? No, it means that we can only spot the bad ones, the good ones stay unnoticed.
is there an analogy where all toupees look like roadkill because i have a family member that needs to embrace his baldness.
The government isn’t known to use up-to-date technology.
This is genuinely depressing. This isn’t people getting their orders and posting thusly, this is one asshole with their bot accounts. Most of Social Media is malarkey, Dead Internet Theory will slowly become true as AI invades more and more spaces.
Sad thing is that in this day and age, they’d hardly need to lift a finger to have this rephrased 100 times. But they know they don’t have to. People eat up the garbage from their feed, people (often the same) know that a lot of it is Russian bots.
p. s: Still surprised how poorly ChatGPT-5 Thinking handled this. A lot of obvious bot content, such as “weeks of uncut videos and policy dives” by a Democrat, “attended a live event” etc.
The thing to understand is that people don’t see outside of their silos.
While it’s obvious when you line then up like that most people will never see that posts. The interact with social media passively and they’re likely to only see one of those posts as they scroll.
I’ve also fallen for and followed a fake account before. It was some neckbeard pretending to be a female disabled doctor. Apparently, he actually was some kind of advocate for the disabled, possibly started with the self-justification to “help”.
Oh wow, apparently it was a bigger deal than I thought back then: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jule_Stinkesocke
Is the one about Kirk unbelievable? Some parts, yes, such as the immediate registration as Republican (not shown in screenshots), but in general, there are favorable non-Republican responses, such as “Shoe on Head”. I’m also upset about quotes out of context, that part seems to be real, and so it builds a bridge from reality to fiction. It’s just that I wouldn’t turn full MAGA because Stephen King smeared a conservative.
Stink e sock e? And the name was fake?
Before I sarcastically say I’m shocked I should look up if it’s a real surname… No dice. Gamers and a furaffinity account appears to be referencing the person, and there’s a children’s book that includes the word in the title.
So without further ado, I’M SHOCKED! SHOCKED I SAY!!!
It was a shock, and my faith in the internet will be lost entirely if it turns out that your name is not actually Killgrind.
(Her supposed real name was Julia
GoetheGothe, in case anyone wants to know. Former Twitter handle @JuleStinkesocke.)Well I did not look up enough! That was the real fake part of the fake whole.
That’s giving them too much credit, I’m sure many of these are also Republicans pretending to be Democrats. After all, it’s what Kirk would’ve done
There’s absolutely that, but we know the troll farms are operating for a fact.
The disciple of none other than Dean Browning
You are just spreading xenophobia against bots!
you can’t be xeonophobic against something that isn’t alive. thats like saying im spreading xenophobia against hammers. its just a tool, being used, by HUMANS
then you are xenophobic against humans that use bots!
Im a lifelong democrat who lives in the beautiful warm water port city in California
Russian and Chinese bots used to out themselves with weird cultural misunderstandings of western countries all the time
As a lifelong idiot, I watched Charlie Kirk say that he’s nervous when he sees a black pilot. That’s what confirmed what everyone else was saying. He is a horrible gifter that uses racist language to make money. I don’t give a crap how his racist family and friends feel. Fuck toilet paper USA.
He is a horrible grifter
I believe that since September 10th he has been the only good kind of grifter.
What the fuck is this supposed to mean
You’ve never heard the expression “the only good {whatever} is a dead {whatever}”?
Ahh I see… Thanks for the clarification. I had forgotten that Sept 10 was the day it happened and thought it was a reference to the time period preceding 9/11. So you can imagine my confusion lol
I had forgotten that Sept 10 was the day it happened
I had to look it up too just to make the joke!
IP: Russia.
I have no proof of the three specific users in the screenshot being Russian, but they do the exact same thing to neighbouring European states to drive division and push them to far right leaders, who are easier to corrupt and onboard for Putin/Russia. Right now they’re kicking out a whole lot of Charlie Kirk misinformation to capitalize on fractures in the US.

You’re not wrong but the Internet Research Agency has been outsourcing for a while now as well as make use of VPNs.
So am I one of those people who used to be a huge conservative and I did listen to Charlie years and years ago. I watched way too many of his little debates.
But once you get out of the echo chambers and start questioning anything he said, you would be attacked instantly by the right.
Charlies main thing was to take someone’s serious question, and focus on one little part he could exploit and drill them for it. It was a great way for his supporters to say “YEAHHHH GET EM!!!” While the person asking the question never got an actual answer and instead was laughed at and mocked.
It was all propaganda and designed to separate people and he was a horrible person.
Can a Russian bot be a lifelong democrat?
I would assume that the US understanding of corporate “speech” rights (per Citizens United) will at some point lead to a Supreme Court ruling that grants explicit personhood (including the right to political affiliation) to corporations and AI bots by extension.
of course they are all “verified”, like if some bot owner can’t afford $3/month
The internet is on life support.
More like puppeted by a necromancer
As a lifelong Democrat, I didn’t know what to make of Charlie Kirk. I’ve since spent several lunch breaks watching his debates (FULL videos) and have come away with the impression that we got him all wrong. The reaction from those on my side of the aisle have really made me Show more
SHOW MORE DAMMIT!
Show more baby, show more!
“This is extremely dangerous to our democracy.”
As a lifelong chicken, I don’t know what to make of Colonel Sanders. I’ve since spent several factory-farm feeding sessions, watching his cooking lessons (FULL live-in-person-show), and have come away with the impression that we, chicken-kind, got him all wrong. The reactions from my species — have really made me question my entire existence.
