And you can only use the Mercedes authorized brake pads, as third party brakes would present a safety hazard and are thus illegal. Failure to remain on the Mercedes Safe Subscription package will result in the forfeiture of you vehicle.

I am surprised there is no DRM “approved” OEM brake pads. You already have to plug your brake pads in for the brake pad wear sensor for some cars. Wouldn’t be a stretch to run another wire and have a chip to identify itself so you can “keep yourself safe” by using OEM pads.
