Looks good but too good to be true. The guy only has a YouTube channel with weird stuff.

Technology@lemmy.world•LG joins Sony and TCL in abandoning 8K TV marketEnglish
3·5 个月前IMAX has a laser thing that renders in 4K, but the point still stands. 1080p is good enough for me, and cinema once a year to have fun with friends.
The automatic HDR on my TV was a revolution because it changed the picture. 4K changes nothing.
It’s not like we went from black-and-white to color TV, it’s like “here are way more pixels but most people don’t care because they talk and drink during the movie.” Movie nerds may care and it’s fine, but I can’t justify buying a new TV for that.

5·5 个月前- The EU will keep pushing to break encryption: like they have been doing for decades? Do you remember the book that Bruce Schneier wrote?
- More age verification laws: yeah, more, that is obvious too that they won’t stop
- More efforts to block VPNs: after scanning phones locally and remotely to “think of the children” and wanting to spy on every messaging service, VPN were obviously the next step (even more obvious because they want to stop piracy, not protect children)
- An AI agent will go terribly wrong: after the suicide, telling you to cook pasta with gas, and other brainwashing stories?
- Prediction markets in everything: has been happening for centuries
- People and businesses will ditch US platforms: no shit, with all the websites about moving away from the US and using E2E encrypted services in Europe, wow, that’s on the same level as a fake psychic

You should go back to the basics of computer science if you don’t know the difference between lists, maps, sets, and tuples.
Biased answer but:
- Tuta is good, free plan to try, 3 euros a month for the cheapest paid plan, they are supposedly adding a “cloud drive” to store some files
- GrapheneOS is amazing, easy to install, you control all the permissions if you want, and it’s the most plain and basic Android out there (they don’t make decisions for you out of the box, it’s the realest Android)

I know nothing about it but it seems controversial. Some studies say CBD is a placebo to calm anxiety. I would advise to read more about it and make up your mind.
