What’s going on with his health. It seemed like he was knocking on death’s door. Are they just hiding it better?

It should be. But that’s not how western nations handle political crimes, it would seem.

I’d probably support a future where the ICC can impeach a sitting president, along with another capacity somewhere for foreign states to remove our sitting president.

I’d like to see a stronger ability to sanction companies, too. Not just the people in the company, but the company itself. Like limiting the volume of power that a data center can consume, if it acts in bad faith.

You mean like pedophilia, accepting bribes and 34 other felonies?

You think anyone in the 1930s was saying, “wait, genocide is illegal Adolf!”?

“Not legal” does not always mean criminal.

He is constitutionally ineligible to run for a third term. He can post all the slop he wants, it doesn’t change that fact.

Should he actually file to run again, the States (who actually run the elections) are within their rights to deny the application. Should some states let him run anyway, that will be challenged by voters (and perhaps by candidates). His campaign would fight those denials, and courts should just dismiss the candidacy out of hand, but some courts have made batshit crazy rulings before.

Even if all the courts rule against him, though, I am not aware of any statute that says it’s illegal to say you will run in an election you might be Ineligible for. If anything, courts will uphold that as free speech.

Remember when some states tried to remove him from the ballot because he caused an insurrection? And the Supreme Court just said that’s not allowed. I have a feeling the same will happen if he runs a third time.

These rulings are also showing us legality means nothing unless there are people there to enforce it. Time and time again the administration has done something blatantly illegal and then caused irreparable damage while the “courts” figured it out and “stopped” them. This administration has been absolutely enlightening on the entire judicial system.

That clause did have some genuine problems. There was no objective metric.

Do you remember when Abbott started calling the situation at the border an “invasion” of “military-age” brown men? Texas was getting ready to toss Biden off the ballot for “aiding an invasion” if Trump was forced off the ballot for insurrection.

You all are missing the most obvious flex: one of his sons is going to run, on the sole platform of “My dad will really be running things, I won’t even make him move out”. Maybe both sons run, on a Trump/Trump ticket, only all the signs say “Trump/Trump/Trump”.

Donald Trump will have his dream job: all of the power and influence (and money!) Of the Presidency, none of the actual responsibility. Why be President when you can own the Presidency?

Didn’t Putin do something similar? He was term limited out of the Presidency, but got his buddy elected President, and then he got himself elected to their Parliament and became Prime Minister. He then got himself re-elected as President, then got some Constitutional things passed to ensure that he never has to give it up again.

But Donald Trump doesn’t care about actually governing, so he doesn’t need to run for Congress. All he has to do is install someone as the next President who is loyal to him, and him alone. What better candidate than Eric, whose only success in life is having the right parents?

Of course, that’s why it’s Donnie’s picture up there, and not Eric’s. They will try to convince all of his fans that a vote for Eric is really a stealth vote for his dad. And Eric will lean into it, because he has never done anything in his life that didn’t rely on his family connections.

(I keep going back to Eric because I think it’s clear that he’s the dumb one, and Junior is smart enough to know he would rather be VP and get to hang out with Senators doing nothing)

Excellent. The Dems need to run a young candidate and have her spend the entire campaign focused on discussing her own talking points and with all of her attack ads focused on disparaging JD Vance.
