As a Canadian I approve the cancellation of US jets!
Maybe Canada should buy a few just to fully understand their capabilities and weaknesses.
F35s are lemons, they have been delayed for years on software issues and even the US Navy rejected them because they did not meet contract specifications.
If we buy these jets, it will cost us $2B a year just to park them in hangars. That’s more than we spend on all biomedical research for all diseases. This is how fucked the priorities of this country are. 88 F35s won’t make any difference to an enemy with 2,400 of them, with full control of the parts supply. They would be useless in a week.
Coincidence or are they using the dog whistle funny number against the administration that did not see this coming?
Makes me wish that the KF-21 was ready a few years earlier. Those look like amazing jets, but if we started looking at them now we’d have to restart the whole evaluation process.
