Europe@feddit.org•Europe is moving to block Microsoft, Amazon, and Google from handling government health, financial, and legal dataEnglish
5·1 day agoWell, there’s always someone who’ll have access to your data, that’s just how life works, so do you want a say on how that’s used, how much is shared and with whom? Or do you want to hand it over to the US. To me that’s an easy choice.
They did though… https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4g74npdwnyo
Maybe? Vetoing spends political capital.
But I agree that getting an EU army is not an easy task.
Kind of depends on how you set up the command structure, doesn’t it? I’m sure clever people in the EU could figure out a way to avoid being held hostage by a bad actor.

Europe@feddit.org•Hungary's new government pushes for euro by 2030English
9·5 days agoI get it tbh. There are both benefits and risks with having your own currency. Having your own currency being devalued makes your population poorer, but can also reduce the unemployment because you can export more.
So it’s both good and bad. I think it all comes down to if you want to be part of a bigger Europe or not.
I’m a big proponent of the Euro, so I’m a bit annoyed that my country refuses to adopt it. The problem is that whenever our currency is weak people want to join the Euro, but then we’d get a “raw deal”, but then our currency gets strong again and then people don’t see the benefit of joining. It’s frustrating.

9·7 days agoI fear you’re right.
Someone said “To every problem there’s a solution that’s clear, simple and wrong”. I think that Farage is that.

8·17 days agoMaybe? I read the article, checked if a similar article had been posted already, it hadn’t so…
Start posting interesting articles from sources you think are good and perhaps the amount of politico articles goes down?
I don’t get why politico is singled out though. Plenty of cunts own newspapers.
So… don’t post ft-articles or don’t help people with the paywall?

6·29 days agoIt’s 57% for rejoin now. I don’t think the poll is going the way they set it up to go.

Europe@feddit.org•8 in 10 Europeans don’t trust US, Chinese firms with dataEnglish
16·1 month agoSadly you have to. But it should be standard practice to give as little as possible.

Most likely “They did Brexit wrong!”. The Brexit that Farage would have delivered, given the chance, would have unicorns crapping out rainbows all over Britain making everything magically better.
