At my school no one took shits because if you did anyone else in the bathroom would laugh and call you out by name if they could figure out who was in the stall “HAHA he’s taking a shit in there!” I was so self concious about it until senior year when I stopped caring about it

Yanks please answer, wtaf is going on with your gulag toilets over there?

I had to go to a fancy casino years after I first visited the US (and many visits between) before I found a public toilet that had a proper door

those panels are more cost efficient because you can manufacture and then install them with poorer tolerances. the panels being smaller in general also means they cost less in materials to manufacture. and then, as a bonus, they allow the floor to be cleaned/mopped easier.

so, greed and laziness - the American way!

McDonald’s usually has good, reliable bathrooms fyi. That and truck stops (not gas stations, the ones that have big lots for truckers to sleep in overnight). There’s also an app whose name I forget like places I can poo where people rate public toilets.

heh… yeah I remember the boy’s bathrooms in my HS back in the late 70’s early 80’s. No doors on the stalls, and the toilet paper rolls were threaded onto chains that looped through holes in the walls that divided the stalls, with the ends locked with a padlock. There were no dividers between the urinals, and in one of the older buildings on campus, the urinals were big long communal troughs…
