AFAIK the former prince Andrew was arrested in relation to national secrets he was giving to Epstein, not because of the pedo stuff.

Was it the bare minimum? Yeah, pretty much. But they aren’t even doing that in the US. The bar is extremely low yet the US is still managing to walk underneath it without even needing to crouch down.

To be fair trump was arrested and I think part of his rap sheet was mishandling classified information. It’s hard to remember all his scandals because they come at you like a firehouse but they did raid mar a lago and found documents in his bathroom.

Still no jail time for it, but I doubt Andrews gonna do time either…

It’s all a show, our prime minister recently stated that no one is above the law, so they had to at least arrest some people. Obviously they won’t face any consequences, Mandelson for example was arrested at his house at 5pm on a Monday afternoon.

If this was a real arrest, it would have been front door smashed in at 5am. The fact that it happened at 5pm on a Monday afternoon, means they had to clear out the police station of all the peasants, before they brought in the Lord, can’t have anyone shouting ‘Nonce’ in his general direction, he’d have sat in a cell, with the door open, given cups of tea and anything else he desired, probably his favourite Teddy, and his Thomas the Tank Engine slippers.

Same as Mandelson, as much as we all might want it, we’re a very long way away from having enough evidence to prosecute Andrew for his crimes against women and girls.

    1. He was detained for “misuse of public office” ie. leaking sensitive information to Epstein, not for child sex abuse.

    2. He was released from custody 11 hours after being detained.

    3. The British state covered up child sex abuse at the Kincora Boys Home in Ireland. You can read more in “Kincora: Britain’s Shame” by Chris Moore. Andrew’s great uncle Louis Mountbatten (the one that incompetently drew the India-Pakistan border) allegedly raped boys at this school and never faced consequences in his lifetime.

Someone hasn’t heard of Jimmy saville’s reign of sexual assault that likely resulted in over a thousand victims (though the official number is 589) over like half a century (earliest reports dated to 1958 and he died in 2011), many being sick or disabled children that he gained access to via “charity work”. Like Epstein it was an open secret that literally everyone knew but wasn’t allowed to be acknowledged until he was dead and could not be held responsible. They did arrest several other co conspirators in the aftermath of this like Gary glitter but it was clear that saville had protection and the like 7 other people who went down after he died benefitted from whatever connections he had while he was alive.

He literally said in his autobiography he “had a predilection for young girls” and made jokes when questioned about his crimes. He was knighted and knew consequences would never come.

This was the first thought I had too (and I assume most other Brits past a certain age), and he didn’t need a private island to do it in; child hospices and hospitals as you rightly point out were his hunting grounds; many staff even aware of what he was doing, but nothing ever came about from it whilst he was alive. And all the creepy comments he made throughout the years; he didn’t have to hide clearly.

Come to think of it, Saville is probably a hero of Trumps. (If the baboon is even aware of him ofc) He did what Trump is trying to achieve; Dying a child raping hero, and then letting everyone deal with the fallout of your actions whilst your name goes down in history without ever having to face the music.

People only get arrested for noncing if they’re poor.

Andy and Mandy got arrested (and released again) because they leaked other rich people’s secrets.

Don’t worry, the uk just isn’t quite up to the us’s standards regarding putting child predators in power yet… Growth mindset, they sure are trying

For (largely?) speakers of non-rhotic dialects, they sure do add a lot of Rs into their words. Maybe they miss them so they throw them back in elsewhere.
