Most people don’t realize today’s chewing gum IS plastic. You can buy chicle gum tho, which is made from tree sap, hopefully people get wind of it and it catches on. The heart disease just caused by chewing gum is insane to think about, but people have no idea.
The article above mentions natural chewing gums and indicates that they release a comparable plastic load to synthetics. I’m altogether too sleepy to parse the source document, though

I’m not sure this works because you don’t chew nicotine gum like regular gum. I think you release the nicotine by chewing, so you munch on it a few times and then let it sit for a while.
I tried them but I couldn’t make them work. This start-stop chewing drove me nuts, and whenever I didn’t pay attention, I chewed on it too much and got woozy. I ended up going cold turkey with a shitton of regular gum.
