We love the Americans who are putting up a fight against fascism. We see you and hope that more join in.

Why not both? I’ll certainly be voting, and that hasn’t or won’t stop me from protesting

Because trolls are out in force lately, and they want to polarize Americans who oppose Trump against everyone else.

When they come for us, they want the Europeans to not help. It might work, too.

Oh boy, the doomerism that drove low turnout among the left in the Presidential election is back!

Hey, nothing bad happened from skipping the last election right?

It doesn’t suggest you should skip going out to vote. It says you shouldn’t wait to vote before doing something.

So I’ve been arguing with people about this. Seems like a lot of people no longer have any other accounts online except in places that are essentially little digital closets where 99% of content is just news headlines and heavy moderation.

What are people are doing day to day if they’re removing themselves from the vox populi and convincing each other to also abandon it?

Doesn’t it seem counter productive to self silence by removing ourselves digitally and then go maximum effort to raise awareness in a protest where we face legal repercussions, threats to our lives, career and financial consequences. In my mind it’s like if i wanted to start boxing but instead of showing up to the gym everyday and training, I just sign up for a fight determined to succeed on pure anger against an opponent that’s trained for years.

I can’t square that myself. Only way it makes sense to me is if some right wing group has been pushing ideas like “Don’t wrestle with pigs” or “delete your Facebook/Reddit/X account because they’re evil”. If they have control of communication channels then no matter what you do in person it will fail since they can write and reframe our efforts into whatever suits them.

    What do we want?

For the rest of the world to stop hating us sooner

    When do we want it?

Like, you know, as soon as seems reasonable, thanks. But no rush.

I dont think any american has ever cared how the world thinks about them and i dont think any of us are gonna start any time soon. Americans want healthcare, paid child care, and better wages and unions… literally zero fucks about the opinions of just the white europeans who think theyre the rest of the world

Yeh it’s quite weird. That nationalism seems to have morphed overtime to some kind of perverse arrogance where they have convinced themselves that badic citizen rights are not what they need, and the rest of the world is the poor cousin who knows nothing.

I am half filipino, so any time some one says “rest of the world” I really question if they are thinking of the brown people in the philippines and malaysia and indonesia, etc? I have half my family in the philippines, I hear their opinions often. Does the person saying “rest of the world” hear their opinions too? Or does the “rest of the world” mean the opinions of white people in europe.

My gut reactions when seeing a .world is a westernized white liberal (non leftist sort) is behind the keyboard
