Same thing with pots in the dishwasher. They either survive or I don’t want them.
I allow one thing to not go in there, that’s the cast iron.
I also try to not use the cast iron that much.
Sounds like it doresn’t have what it takes to thrive in this fast paced environment.
If anything says “hand wash”, it’s staying in the store.
Do people sort their washing? I don’t think I’ll ever be this mature.
Cold water, every time. I do my whites separately, because I have enough for a full load. When I had teenagers I did a load of blacks. (That’s also a good place for the occasional red item so it won’t ruin everything else.) But I ain’t smushing anything around in no sink!
And before anyone asks: Yes I have gotten quite good at fixing seams and reattaching buttons.
This shirt is dry-clean only. That means… it’s dirty.

Everything gets washed on permanent press as well. Nearly everything you buy is synthetic fibers or polyester blends now anyway.
when the laundry wants $4.50 for a washer and $2.00 (x2) for a dryer everything is washed together and dried together.
