They’ve just declared war on their own Jesus:

“Anti-capitalism”, right there, AND direct “hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on morality”, if one takes American televangelists as paragons of American morality.

I wouldn’t even deny that in a sense my views on “race” and gender are extremist, even if my first thought was the same.

Like, “it doesn’t matter people are individuals” is pretty much by definition on the extreme end.

(Well there’s also “it sadly did matter in the past and even if we instantly stopped all racism and sexism the results will linger so we should see what we can do to get closer to actual equality faster” but that seems like a different axis, even if to conservatives it probably seems “more extreme”)

I’d say he checks more boxes than he doesn’t. Though arguably, “traditional American views on religion and morality” could mean believing in freedom of religion and not being full-on fascist. The only one he probably doesn’t check is the one about “traditional Americans views on family”.

Hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on religion,

So, like, not separating church and state? Or not being an agnostic deist?

I’m low-key relieved that it wasn’t the first one. Like…the list is garbage. Don’t get me wrong.

But it would have been telling if it was the first bullet.

I can at least understand what’s being said by a few of these, but do we have an official, on the books, definition for what constitutes “extremist” views, or what “traditional American values” are in this context?

I’m guessing not, because I’m not sure they know what any of that actually looks like anymore.

They think they do, but they keep the wording vague in their official statements because these rules are not to preserve American culture or their way of life, it’s all vibe based. I don’t like you so let’s see which of these vague statements I can attach to you so that you get in trouble that you literally cannot afford to get out of…

A reminder: To fundamentalist christians, the moment you hear about Jesus Christ, yet decide to not convert, you’re anti-christian until you do so.

Anti Christian is just the tip of the iceberg. Per Christian doctrine your soul is destined for damnation in hell if you don’t accept Christ as the only path to salvation. Why would your life matter if you’re going to hell anyways?

I love how vague this is. Extremism on gender is entirely up to the reader to decide the definition. To some people 2 genders is extremist and hateful, to others anything except 2 genders is extremist and also somehow hateful.

“traditional American views” is a terrifying phrase for a Government to be using. It’s so heavy with euphemism it’s almost ready to burst.
