  • Most people aren’t entirely good or bad, I really think this kind of black-and-white thinking is hurting us as societies. Even Hitler cared about his dog and I haven’t heard anything about him being a bad husband, either - and yet this guy is one of the go-to examples for people who are considered completely evil. This leads to fallacies like people not wanting to believe that someone could be a murderer because they were always treated right by them.

People tend to care about some things in their lives and not care about other things.

Sweet and savory is a classic, sweet condiments are super common - if fried food with ketchup, barbecue sauce etc. is fine, why not berries, jams, honey?

Game meat with jam (specifically lingonberry/cowberry) is a very common recipe, and lingonberry jam with baked and battered camembert is also a thing (and really good).

    Anyway, GRAARRRWWWRR

In German, “evangelisch” and “evangelikal” are two distinct things. The first one is used for local denominations like lutheranism that tend to be chill, while the second is reserved for the US-brand skullduggery. Does Finnish do something similar, or are the two really conflated?
