Most politicians and lobbyists who are pushing for this don’t give a damn about ‘online harm’. It’s a tool for controlling the population, suppressing government-critical information and cementing (or even further lowering) the status of marginalized groups. Case in point: Information about LGBT+ topics is often considered “mature” or “nsfw”, even when it’s not pornografic at all.

I’m starting to think that the sauerkraut that people eat in the anglosphere is actually rank. I hate the smell and taste of most cabbage-derived vegetables, but the sauerkraut I’ve had in Germany never had that typical cabbage-smell.

CDs have much better longevity than cassettes, and if you’re already buying pre-burned CDs instead of pre-recorded tapes, you might as well skip the step where you transfer data from CD to tape.

Most people aren’t entirely good or bad, I really think this kind of black-and-white thinking is hurting us as societies. Even Hitler cared about his dog and I haven’t heard anything about him being a bad husband, either - and yet this guy is one of the go-to examples for people who are considered completely evil. This leads to fallacies like people not wanting to believe that someone could be a murderer because they were always treated right by them.
People tend to care about some things in their lives and not care about other things.

It’s pretty common to produce table salt by dehydrating sea water. This saltwater electricity plant doesn’t produce salt, though, since the basis of their electricity generation process is diluting concentrated salt water.
If they’re mostly using electricity or even combustion to evaporate the water (as opposed to sunlight), there’s no chance that the concentrated saltwater creates more electricity than it costs - it’s only maybe useful if the saltwater is actually a waste product.
But who decides what makes a person worthy?
Full english breakfast isn’t that bad if you pair it with a light lunch, like Brits traditionally do. Though yeah, fried sausage is full of unhealthy fats and preservatives (nitrite curing salt, especially unhealthy when heated) and there’s no way around that. Maybe if you pick a vegan sausage alternative.
Sweet and savory is a classic, sweet condiments are super common - if fried food with ketchup, barbecue sauce etc. is fine, why not berries, jams, honey?
Game meat with jam (specifically lingonberry/cowberry) is a very common recipe, and lingonberry jam with baked and battered camembert is also a thing (and really good).

In German, “evangelisch” and “evangelikal” are two distinct things. The first one is used for local denominations like lutheranism that tend to be chill, while the second is reserved for the US-brand skullduggery. Does Finnish do something similar, or are the two really conflated?
