I 100% use my PTO to sleep.
Fuck that; I’m American and I use my vacation time to go on vacation.
I don’t care if it bankrupts me; if I don’t get out of town at least once or twice a year I will go insane. So what if I gotta eat ramen for the next three months after that, work/life balance is everything.

I’m going to have 5 weeks every year starting in February and I have no idea what to do with it all. I definitely can’t afford to vacation.
I spend a lot of my vacation visiting family and friends I wouldn’t get to see otherwise.
Typically crashing with them and helping around the house so I’m not a burden, then camping or grilling or otherwise chilling.
I spread mine out through out the year as 3 day weekends. I can’t afford to go anywhere, and will lose them if they’re not used up. It’s a rest/do shit at home/Dr appt day.
I’ve started planning mine around big game releases
At my work I have to save mine for when I am sick

How much do you get per year?
Like 9 days and some odd hours. We have sick pay days but they dont kick in unless you are sick for 3 days straight because of a “waiting period”

I got 25 days here when I was an intern… And that’s not including bank holidays either

In France things are changing and now if you get sick during your paid holiday with a doctor note you can postpone your holidays.
