Yeah I sold real estate to a couple who was living out of a boat and traveling the world. He was a retired oil engineer, and it made lots of money and could afford to stay around and do nothing his whole life. That’s the point. It’s a position of comfort and personal decision. Lot’s of people have hobby cars. I don’t own a second car or a boat but I don’t consider everyone who has one rich. Those people still go to work every day and save for retirement. We’re talking about good wage job, not being a millionaire.

I’m talking the devaluation of our currency and inflation of our necessities has not kept up with meager wage growth. They’re gonna offshore your job soon enough or replace you with AI. If you are still in the sailboat owning class, you are a demographic that’s getting more unobtainable to the non sailboat class. You don’t feel like you’re rich, but you were the net beneficiary of all of the subsidies and money printing of your own a house and a 401k.
