Oh, wild. I expected them to put the investigation of Trump’s molesting teenagers above any party power-plays. Nobody could have predicted that they’d protect a rapist just because he does everything they’ve been wanting to do for fifty years.

Getting Played is the only thing MAGA is good at. Relationships, politics, cars, you name it.

They love to scream about how cool they are, but they don’t realize the whole world is laughing at them.

I have been going to Home Depot constantly this summer. A lot of my self-care/hobby time involving wood working and construction for the past several months.

I always love the visual of me, computer nerd wearing business casual, precision loading 8ft lumber into the whole length of my old beaten up Mazda3 while half the other customers in their clean polos head to their sparkling pristine $80,000 emotional support commuter RAM trucks with their latest convenient prepackaged “manly” products. Or like one thin piece of wood or trim – the thing they spent an extra $50,000 on their vehicle to be able to do.

I don’t mean to act like I am above being a consumer whore though. I have gotten myself a bunch of nice new tools in the process and have regretted nothing.

And this probably goes without saying, but I am talking about the consumer/homeowner type customers, not the actual work vehicles loaded with tools that pull up to the special “pro” entrance.

They are less likely to support backward social policies. They are closer to moderate than right on fiscal policies. They are similar to the world political majority on international policies.

That’s where things are at for now; anything the GOP does to try to make it go away will make it worse.

Yes, people are leaving MAGA over this, and many others are less vocal than they were. Not everyone, but MAGA doesn’t have to shrink much before it’s no longer a political force.

It doesn’t matter whether or not people “leave MAGA” , it matters how they vote. Are they fed up enough with it all that they would vote for a “Liberal”? Even one who’s not at all Liberal , but just has a “D” after their name? If not, then their “leaving MAGA” is just a temper tantrum with no practical effect.

Do you guys still think you are going to get to vote? That’s cute. Have you not been paying attention?!

That’s a very narrow way of looking at democracy. Voting is only one thing you can do to affect change. It’s arguably not even the best way.

Since Trump took office, members of Congress have been talking about getting death threats if they don’t do everything Trump says. This has had a real effect on what Congress has done in response. To a certain extent, members of Congress always get death threats, but the amplitude seems much, much higher than it has ever been. This has had a real effect on what they’ve done against Trump–both GOP and Dems alike.

If MAGA stops their support, then that goes away, and it will have direct impacts.

Don’t forget the slight dismay some podcasters will have till they slowly start to rationalize and walk it back. I’ll admit it’s more fun watching the mind fuck in real time with narration.

why do journalists keep referring to Twitter as X?

it’s just not going to happen, and you lose credibility

If you hate Musk, call it “X.”

X has poorer brand recognition and poorer brand sentiment than Twitter.

Because it changed its name… like what would be the point of calling it Twitter when it’s literally x.com now?

How do you lose credibility for calling a product by its name? What do you mean it’s not going to happen? It’s already happened. You can call it a stupid rebrand (I agree), but you can’t pretend it didn’t happen… Twitter doesn’t exist anymore.
