Why weren’t they going after this 10 years ago? I think I’ve just gotten into the habit of “open in new tab” because I know there’s a good chance “back” won’t do what I want.
Frankly, here on PieFed, “back” to a feed isn’t very useful, because you’ll just land somewhere in the feed, not back to the place where you started. “Open in new tab” solves that as well, for certain very small values of “solves.”
“Support me politically, or I will do stuff that will hurt the kids living in my own country” was Putin’s thing back in 2012.

“Wow that’s dumb,” you say. And sure sure, you’ve got a point.
But what will you say when you find out Pennsylvania has three?
“Jesus H. Christ, that’s idiotic,” you say. And I can’t argue.
But you will be rendered speechless by the news that my own state of Ohio has four localities named “Athens.”

I was profoundly skeptical when someone in my household brought home some “Cheese Storage Bags” that appeared to be made of wax paper. They cost around a dollar apiece, and since there’s really no way to clean them, they’re pretty much disposable. Insane scam, I thought. Someone just loves shopping, I thought.
But no, they absolutely worked, hard cheeses keep in the deli drawer way better in those bags. In the past I had tried wrapping cheese in wax paper or parchment paper, with little success. The stupid cheese bags were so much better. I can’t explain. Still mad about it. Also we need more cheese bags.

These aren’t charges they’re dismissing. They’re dismissing convictions. Dismissing a conviction sounds a lot like a pardon. I didn’t know it was legally possible for a prosecutor to do that.
These people were found guilty through due process. Now the DOJ is re-writing history.
This is going to wind up granting AI agents a piecemeal, half-assed, legal-fiction version of “personhood,” like corporations have. The AIs will wind up with freedoms like: They can spend all the money they want, that’s “free speech.”
And the fleshy unfortunates among us still won’t have a right to a living wage, to medical care, etc.

I’m not a believer myself. And yet. The length and specificity of this list of parallels between what the Bible says about the Anti-Christ and the behavior and character of our dear leader gives me pause.
