Vote Blue, just don’t forget that we are still likely going to need to take to the streets and take action anyway in case Republicans do not step down peacefully, or they ratfucked your state’s elections.

Never forget that Republicans broke the social contract between us and our government by ignoring Due Process and breaking the very foundations of the trust in our legal system. They should not longer be protected by said Social Contract, they do not get to have Due Process after they wiped their asses with it.

No fanboying for any politicians, ever anymore. Not Obama, Biden, Newsome or Mamdami. They just need to shut the fuck up and do their jobs. Give them no rope, If they aren’t doing their jobs right, demonstrate, protest, strike, fuck their week up until they do their job. Being competent shouldn’t be treated as being exceptional.

Yes, and be sure to call anyone who disagrees a monster and idiot. Bonus points if after calling them an idiot you say something factually wrong like you’re dropping truth bombs. Then step outside and enjoy a victory smoke, the weather is wonderful this time of year in Moscow.

I’m not sure being on foot in most US cities is a great idea. Car-centric design and low density means you can’t disrupt much and you’re basically caging yourself in for authorities with car to have their way with you. That’s probably why it’s encouraged. Meanwhile, like 20 cars strategically placed could shut down / turn to chaos a large city.

We need to protest and call dem reps as much if not more than republicans, no matter which party holds the majority. We know Dems cave to pressure so we need the progressive electorate to apply it more than republicans do. We’re past the days of assuming these fuckwits will do their jobs correctly without public scrutiny. Once again history proves the price of freedom is constant vigilance.

So then you’re ready to organize and take up arms? Because I encourage you to do so. Voting is the small amount of violence direction allotted to you by the system. You should use the hell out of it, because it will be used against you otherwise.

However I agree its not enough, it’s the barest minimum of effort. Not the end all be all as many seem to treat it. So if you’re not voting, I assume you’re calling for direct violent action.

Though I suppose if that’s not it, as well. Then I assume you’re a Republican Agent, and frankly at that point what you deserve are the exact things you enable.

So what are you? What’s your point?

If only the Democrats weren’t a fundamental part of our long corrupt political system! That would be so cool.

I voted. Democrats will take the house. They won’t reform shit, watch and learn.

Don’t forget! If you type bOtH sIdEs you win so be sure to respond with that.

They will if they are more afraid of the public than their donors. (Obviously I would never condone throwing a brick through a congressional rep’s window though, I disavow all political violence for legal reasons)

Yep, neoliberal gonna neoliberal. They can at least ease the gas on all the nasty social rhetoric but they will not make any significant difference in the capital engine powering it all underneath.

I’m not saying “Don’t vote, nothing changes!”, I am just saying, temper your expectations.

Exactly! For 16 years in a row the “don’t bother to vote” people got direct and repeated proof of just how useless and stupid that plan was.
It wasn’t until people got so sick of it that they finally decided to do something useful instead of just sitting around and complaining.

I propose a very simple thing. Use AIPAC tracker to decide who to vote for. Only vote for people who’ve taken 0$ from AIPAC.

Its hopeless though. America has never been great. I wake up each morning fetch water from the well and scrub my peasant cloths clean all the while thinking, “man I wish there was any other life than this, one where I could see rockets shoot to the moon. One where I could see every imagined thought brought to life in a digital world. One where I could learn from endless wells of knowledge just waiting to be tapped. One with machines and automation that could do the work of a 1000 men.”

Its all for naught, though. I put on my burlap sack and tend to livestock while my indentured wife grinds the meal for tonight’s porridge. Life in america, what a waste.

Make sure you vote for candidates who will refuse to oust the fascist party, and will enable them to continue their fascism in two years. Vote blue no matter who!

Guess what happens if the new government fails to improve people’s lives and then goes to election season lying to the people that things are as good as they can expect, while the fascists correctly tell them shit sucks, and lie that its the fault of <insert oppressed minorities/foreigners>.

I think it’s important to note that that that’s one of the things that lead to Orbán’s downfall. They did this constantly, for more than a decade, ignoring or subverting real issues. People eventually had enough of it, including his supporters.

Note that the election theater in Hungary replaced a Putin rightoid with a Euro rightoid. Their results were nothing more than a extension of a geopolitical power shift. The elections themselves were not that relevant. No mere election is. And no geopolitical power in the world order really REALLY care about teh authoritarianism or populism.

The current scene in the US election theater is about the blue faction of the uniparty hoping to pull a mini miracle and reach 50 seats in the senate, so they can see Vance tie breaking. And even that is very unlikely. Not that the whole thing matters in any way, no matter the results.

Since you asked so nicely, I’ll cut the bullshit and only tell you stuff that directly affects me and has either already happened or the implementation is close enough to already have an effect on my life.

From the beginning of next year, the personal income tax will be lower. The family allowance will double. My extended family also automatically received a school supply allowance. They’re also bringing back a simplified taxation form for self-employed people, which I might take advantage of.

Nearby hospitals got an upgrade on their HVAC systems. There’s an online platform where I can provide feedback on the care I received. This is an improvement to the previous system, where you complained on Facebook and the former Minister of Health told you to go fuck yourself. No, I am not kidding, this happened.

There’s a bridge I have to go across when I visit my parents. It’s in such a bad shape that I roll my windows down every time I cross it so that I can wiggle out of the car if it collapses under me. The guy previously responsible kept delaying the renovation. The new guys started working on it not long ago.

For the past few years, every second billboard outside screamed at me that there’s war and immigrants and Ukranians and ugly old people with Jewish or Jewish-sounding surnames out there to get me. And that my only hope is Orbán. Everyone else wants me dead and penniless. In the months before the election, almost every surface outside was covered with fear-mongering political messaging. Orbán then seized a Ukranian money transport and then tried to blame a false-flag operation on Ukraine. Because of this and his Russian bias and his fiery speeches against Ukraine, I was fully convinced that if he won, we’d declare war on Ukraine by the end of the year. I actually made preparations for this eventuality. Along with every non-Orbán supporter I knew. The billboard ads are now gone. The rhetoric has calmed down. Maybe this last point is not tangible enough. But I literally cannot tell you how relieving it is to be finally free of it.

These are off the top of my head. Without mentioning that blocked EU funds have been secured (because that’s a bonus for the economy, I don’t get shit directly) and that the capricious rule by decree is over (because that’s boring legislation). Magyar and Tisza are populists, and they promised the world to Hungarians. But now they need to deliver because we’ve had enough empty promises, and they know this too. We’ll see if they can keep it up.

EDIT: I could also walk this year’s Pride without being threatened with fines and cameras with facial recognition tech! Silly me, I almost forgot that the government-mandated gay bashing has finally ceased.
