Girl: Where’s the edge?
Panel 3: She becomes frustrated as she continues to turn the roll and pick at it
Girl: This is starting to piss me off.
Panel 4: [10 minutes later] she finally finds the edge
Girl: Finally, I found it!
Panel 5: […] As she begins to peel the tape it rips diagonally in a V
Panel 6: frustrated she throws the roll of tape to the ground

Pro-tip: leave a courtesy tab when you finish with tape. Just fold the end over on itself. You’ll thank yourself next time.
The problem with that, is to cut thr tape in a easy that it doesn’t immediately goes back on the roll… I hate those rolls…

I had a roll of tape once where the thickness varied to form grooves so it always tore straight pieces, was kind of cool.

Pro-tip: Invest in a pistol grip dispenser guns, cheap ones start at like $10 and pay for themselves in saved anger quite rapidly.
No matter how rarely you think you’d use it - it’s worth it.
I use those tape guns at my job all the time. They still piss me off frequently.
After a few years the tape starts to melt into the layer below
I used to have some 3M shit from the 80s. It was duct tape but on steroids. A visibly thick layer of adhesive, roughly cut fabric base with some of that military green vinyl coating. Everyone called it EB green because it was mostly from Electric Boat in Connecticut. After like 5 years that thing was just a semi round blob of carpet, sheetrock paper and basically anything else it touched in it’s life. Skin would lose to this shit quite often. It became one with itself and everything it came in contact with.

The post office somehow sells the best clear tape in my country
I use a paperclip on the edge now. Solves the problem
Just use your fingernail to feel the edge. Don’t try to find it with your eyes.
Yea I don’t have this problem, also makes it clear which direction the tape is going.

y’all realize they mark the edge of the tape with a line on the inside of the roll, right?
I’ve never seen that, could be true for some brands but it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Most brands on a fresh roll would have a tab on the end of the tape anyway, after one use any marking on the inside of the roll wouldn’t line up with the new end.
