How is that not immediately impeachable and criminal? He knew there was a credible threat to the aircraft and let civilians fly on it.

If the threat was serious enough that they had to do an entire ruse to sneak him off then everyone on board could have been killed.

The flight could have easily been cancelled and he be transported by other means.

It is immediately impeachable and criminal, but none of the other impeachable and criminal stuff he’s done has gotten him inpeached or criminally charged, so why would this?

So The Daily had a good podcast about this and they brought up the fact that this isn’t the first time a Presidential detail has used a decoy, both Clinton and Bush used this. The biggest difference is that there was trust and understanding between the President and journalists and they were told about it before hand and asked not to report it and didn’t leave them high and dry unlike this miserable excuse for a fat tub of balding lard.

I doubt this would be egregious enough for impeachment since they could easily say it was due to extraordinary threats and could point out that this tactic while extraordinarily rare is not unpresidented as this moron likes to say.

Another article about Clinton’s decoy and being a decent human being about it. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2026/08/11/donald-trump-bill-clinton-switched-air-force-one-security/91254069007/

“Impeachable” is totally up to Congress, the Constitution says “high crimes and misdemeanors” qualify, but there is no formal definition for that. Republicans could have impeached Obama for the Dijon mustard if they had enough Democratic votes in the Senate who thought it was an egregious enough offense.

Until and unless Democrats control a majority of both the house and senate impeachment and conviction just isn’t going to happen. I don’t think there’s anything Trump could do that would get the Republicans to vote against him short of maybe rounding up a bunch of them and having them publicly executed and maybe not even then. The only way it’s remotely happening is if Democrats don’t need a single Republican to vote with them and for good measure they should count on not having a few of the Democrats vote in favor as well.

If/when Trump and his cronies are finally removed from power the US needs major political changes to make sure this shit never happens again.

Conviction will never happen unless they get a 2/3rd majority in the senate becuase that is what it takes.

…so basically conviction will never happen

The Untied States needs a major system overhaul. Sadly, the only way I see that happening is revolution

How this is not immediately impeachable and criminal is a standing mystery surrounding every aspect of Trump’s presidency. I miss the days when I believed that presidents had to follow any sort of rules

      Add it to the pile.

You weren’t expecting enforcement, were you?

Well he just kind of lives his life one impeachable offense to the next and individuals able to hold him accountable have yet to do anything about it.

I have reached the point of disgust with america. They elected this person knowing he was like this - twice, and won’t hold him accountable.

Because it is a longstanding reality that anyone who travels with the President is expendable, and this is understood by all parties. Its simply one of the cultish aspects of the empire.
