What? No tons of desktop drives were this way too. I mean yes WD RE style drives were fantastic but WD black was always the way to go back in mechanical days. They were for desktop.
I would still use better drives even for home lab. In my opinion, 5400 rpm drives should only be used for slower nas / backup applications if at all. Or grandmas pc to save a few bucks.
