I’m unlikely to ever be a fan of the guy, personally, but he’s doing great things in shit circumstances that were given to us. I don’t think that any other Ukrainian politician would have managed to keep the country standing this long.
Let’s just say the corruption in our government didn’t magically go away in February 2022. More like partially paused. There will still be questions once we’re no longer being actively destroyed by another country
My take is that he was participating in corruption along with everyone else, but the war made him change priorities. Granted, if it was peacetime, we would have had another presidential election in 2024 already.
I saw another Ukrainian saying that while he fully supports Zelensky now he isn’t big fan of his before the full invasion started.
I guess some people are better leaders during peace time and some are better during war time.
But to be fair to him it doesn’t look like he had much time to be president during peace[1] time.
Also I think majority of people thought he would be a pussy when the war started. Definitively putin thought so. It looks like he put Z, V, O (his initials) on tanks to scare him and leave.
If Zelensky would accept Biden’s offer I don’t think there would be Ukraine anymore. It would hit morale, putin would install new government which would join Russia.

He may have had a professional career as a comedian, but I think he’s proven through his political career that he is a man to be taken very seriously.

You’re asserting that Zelenskyy has implemented his own form of corruption or that he was ineffective in rooting it out or something else?
I don’t completely follow, not trying to be difficult just understand.
